LAC+USC interview new grad RN

Hey guys, I have a question. I had an interview with LAC+USC and received a letter that I passed the oral exam. I read in the letter that they are going to contact me if positions open up. I am a new grad RN. Have you been in my situation? How long does it take until they call you? Do we have another interview after the oral interview or this is it? Please share your experience with me..thank you

congrats on everyone who have surpassed their waiting and have moved forward on their process! yayyy!:yelclap::w00t::cheers:i appreciate all past input here that has helped me prepare for what to expect in this process. i was just wondering how i should go by this for myself. i had my civil service interview on july 30th and have since been interviewing for other places. i live in new york. and might start a full-time position soon (i've been doing per diem work part time while applying to RN jobs in CA and NY). if i do start a full time position in NY, i might stay for 2 years to qualify for a loan repayment program--so, if i do this would i have to do the civil service interview again to be on the eligibility list again or stay on it?if anything, i may be applying to a different position within the county in the future. i had the initial interview for RN I position. does this mean i would have to do another interview for a different position?thank you for all your input! :specs:
You're only eligible for 6 months. They will put the expiration date on the letter. After that you have to reapply & go through the process all over (including the civil exam). The RN I elibility means you can interview for any entry level job (med surg, ER, ICU, relief nurse etc). If you have more experience, you can apply for RN II or other positions but they each have their own process.

hi guys! I have just been called for an interview at Olive View!!! i am sooo nervous! this would be my first! I asked what unit and all I got was that it was for the Relief Nurse position..Question... What's the difference between a Relief Nurse and RNI position? The job description looks similar..Please help.. any info would be appreciated!Thanks in advance!
Congrats on getting the interview! I think the relief position is part of RNI/II. You'll be covering other nurses during their mandatory breaks (30 min lunch) or sick days. Where you'll be at may depend on the areas of need. You can ask about the unit & hours during interview. Good luck.

^ Wow! That was fast! Congrats! I just took my livescan today. I was hired July 16 btw.. Hopefully my process will be going the same rate as yours..

Wow. I called nurse recruitment today and they said they were still waiting for approval for our department and couldn't tell me when I could start. Sigh.

I'm a new grad (June 2011). No previous RN experience. Submitted initial application November 2011. The process is long and the wait is excruciating but in the end, so worth it! Don't lose hope if you just started.
