Laboure College

U.S.A. Massachusetts

hello All,

I'm coming here in hopes of getting some responses, opinions and just thoughts on Laboure College's nursing program. Or if you know of someone who recently attended Laboure and graduated. Unfortunately, all the comments on here are so old. :sorry:

I'm curious to know..

How is the program? academic-wise, clinical-wise and in general.. the school's atmosphere. Student/Teacher ratio etc..

Are students getting jobs post-graduation anywhere, not specifically hospitals?

I know it's an ADN program.. are students continuing to the BSN program there or elsewhere??

Anything..........

I'm trying to help a friend out who has been struggling to get into a program and was finally accepted there but with reading reviews on here, seems like a lot of students don't really have anything good to say about it. They've been around for so long, 120yrs, I thought that was a good sign.. but maybe not.

again.... if someone has attended/graduated or knows someone, please let me know.

Thx

much appreciated!!

The school is legitimate just expensive be aware of that!!

I graduated from here this June. I took my boards in July and passed in 75 questions. They are easier to get into then a lot of other nursing programs which I think accounts for a lot of student struggling during the program and to pass the boards. I found the classwork comparable to friends I had in other nursing programs both ASN and BSN. At times they are disorganized but the teaching faculty for the nursing courses are really good. The place is very expensive. My only suggestion would be that if you have an option of doing a BSN program do that instead - Boston wants nothing to do with ASN new grads and neither do any of the community hospitals.

How were you anle to finance the program since it is so expensive? It seems like all the programs or school are just as expensive as laboure, except the community colleges which are hard to get into. I am just nervous about not receiving enough loans or scholarship since I will not be eligible to get pell grants.

Hello,

For those of you who may have a bachelor's degree already, and seeking admission to the program. How do you plan to finance the cost of attendance, since grants may not be available to those with a degree already? Also it seems to me that the college is not to scholarship friendly because I don't see anywhere on their site mentioning scholarships. Just curious. Thanks.

My parents actually paid for it out of pocket, sorry I wish I was more helpful ; /. But a lot of girls I went to school with paid for it through financial aid and loans. Depending on how many transfer credits you come into the program with it ends up being around 50,000+

Lucky for you...Thanks for responding.

Good luck to everyone that got accepted. I just applied for the Spring 2015. I submited my transcripts and waiting for the response. How long did it take to hear back with a response? Did anyone have to take the accuplacer test??

Got accepted to the spring 2015 class!

Got accepted to the spring 2015 class!

Congrats! I'm still waiting on my status. How find you find out about your acceptance?

Thank you! I called them and they told me I was accepted and I got my acceptance package in the Mail. Have you called them? I called every Monday. Lol

I actually called the school today, and was told that my application is next up for review. So I guess the waiting begins, but I will continue to follow up with them. Since the school is a bit pricey, if you don't mind me asking, how will you be financing the school?

If you are next for review you should be hearing back pretty soon. Didn't take them long before I heard from them after I was being reviewed. I'm going to take out loans. And apply for any aid that i can get.
