LA trade tech run down

Published

To say I have a love hate relationship with Trade Tech would be an understatement. I am writing this because I understand some of us do not have the luxury to be picky when it come to nursing school. I want to give incoming or current students some advice.

  1. The first thing I want to say especially to the incoming students is DO NOT WRITE ANY LETTERS. A majority of the students feel the frustration of having unfair” teachers and instinctually we want to say something. All the students that have said something, complained, written letters/e-mails are no longer in the program. Be smart about it, graduate first. Changes will happen unfortunately not while you are there.

  2. It is students vs teachers. There will be class mates that you can not stand, but you have to help each other out. Some teachers will say some harsh words and treat the class poorly because of the actions of one student. If you are united and supportive the teachers kinda backdown.

  3. DO NOT ARGUE WITH THE TEACHERS. Again students vs teachers. I am here to tell you there will be a couple of teachers that will mark answers wrong even if you know they are correct, but are two point worth you getting your power points taken away?

  4. First semester to answer your questions on you know who. Yes, she will only read the power point. Yes, you are responsible for things that are not covered in lecture or the book. No, do not write the BRN or you will magically find yourself out of the program. Remember she will be your instructor for the first year. As for her test just do a bunch of nclex style questions. Quizlet is free.

There are some great teachers in the program. These people will be your allies and will guide you. They are not blind to whats going on, but there is very little they can do about it. With all nursing programs your in or your out.
