Hello. Well I see that no one has posted anything for Spring 2017 applicants and I know that I'm feeling a little nervous here so I'd like to know if there's anyone out there on the same boat that I am.
Hi @Ltorres1110,Does LA county require you to take the Teas or ATI TEAS and which book do you recommend? I actually just missed the application period and planning to apply the next opening period. Thank u for your time!
I took the ati teas I am not sure if they are still accepting the teas 5 but u can call and ask ati teas is only a newer version of the teas5... but the provide the test if u would like to take it with them
Hey everyone! Good luck to people who are reapplying. As someone who graduated from County in December, I promise you that you wouldn't want to go anywhere else. By the time you are done, you will be running circles around other new grads from other schools. Their motto is "there's no other education like it in the world." and that is VERY true. Sure, there will be times where you feel broken and beaten down LOL but that's nursing school anywhere right? The experience you get from County patients you will not see them anywhere else.
To answer questions about the TEAS; yes they make you take it. you can take it there or somewhere else just get your transcripts sent to them. I took mine at CSULA.
They are very strict about the address; you MUST be a LA county resident for 1 year prior to applying, you might need to call them and explain your situation on how you accidentally put your Oregon address just so they don't think you moved here within the last month to apply. This is because taxpayer money goes to fund the school and it wouldn't be fair for someone who lives in like say San Bernadino County to come to our school if they don't pay taxes there.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask me! I hope everyone that didn't get in for this semester sticks it out and waits and reapplies. It is worth every single moment.

Hey Rightousjenn,
I had a few questions if you don't mind..
I applied last year for Spring 2017 and surprisingly, got accepted; however, I deferred my admission for Spring 2018 because I am en route to finish my Bachelors here at CSULA. I am now debating whether I should start at County or should I apply to the accelerated programs or even go for my BSN? Also, how tough was it for you to get a job after graduation? (Since I've heard most hospitals only hire BSN)
Thank you ahead of time!!!
Hi! I just finished reading most of the comments on this topic, and I cannot wait to post about my progress on the admission journey. I applied for the Fall 2017 semester at LACCN and took my ATI TEAS on Friday of last week (March 24th) with them. I feel confident about my results, and hoping to get at least a 75% so I can get the extra 5 points on my application. This time, they emailed us the questionnaire attached to the email that was notifying us that we qualified to take the ATI TEAS. They asked that we had it filled out by the time we took the TEAS and to turn it in that day. I did so, and now all I can do is wait for the good news.
I am actually graduating as a Vocational Nurse on May 18, 2017 but was not able to apply into the bridge program because I have yet to obtain my license. I am a little on the older side so I did not want to waste any more of my time and decided to apply into the genetic option. I do not mind at all repeating what I have already learned. To be honest, the clinical experience I have obtained while in my LVN program is not what I expected, and that is why I have decided to attend LACCN. I have heard nothing but marvels about their clinical experience.
If there is anyone else who has applied into the Fall 2017 genetic option, please keep me posted so we can go through the waiting episode together. I have not applied into any other program in my area (Whittier, CA), even though I have plenty of options. If I don't make it in this year, I will apply for next year and keep on trying until I get in. I will soon obtain my license as an LVN and will be working while I make it into this school. In obtaining my RN, I will not settle for less!
I am too applied for County for fall 2017. I passed my teas, but I didn't score high enough to get extra 5 points. I also applied and on the waitlist at LA Trade Tech. At Trade Tech, I'm for sure will be in the program for fall 2018, but I'm hoping to get into county this fall. I hope God granted my wish to get into county. Good luck for both of us :)

Thank you for the good vibes! Right back at you sista! I got an 85% score in my TEAS so I did get the extra 5 points on my application, thank God! I'm still not sure how many points I am applying with because I took some of the classes a long time ago and my transcripts were sent directly from school to school so I did not get a chance to see them. I will be calling them tomorrow to find out how many points they are granting me. Let's keep in touch :)
