Ky Excelsior Students

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

I was just wondering if anyone here had any problems with Excelsior in Ky(especially eastern ky)?

I was also wondering what is required to do the Excelsior Program(anything that requires you to travel, or can't be done online) I was told that you have to go to Ny, Ga,or Wi to take a CPNE test.

I'm currently enrolled in my local college for Diesel Technology, but thought about a change..

Thanks,

Josh

You have to already be a healthcare professional to enroll in Excelsior's program, such as an LPN, Paramedic, military corpsman, or RT; or you have to have completed 50% of a nursing program.

Does being a EMT-B count?

No, you have to be an EMT-P. Sorry!

Hi keaton- I'm an EC grad in KY. The Board does recognize the program, but as Lunah stated, you do have to be a LPN or EMT-P to enroll in the program and be considered for licensure. FWIW, I took the CPNE in Atlanta.

Ok, relieved to hear that KY takes EC grads - we're moving there in two weeks... although I have much longer than that before I graduate, but ssh. Any conditions to being able to pracitice? Hours etc.?

Thanks,

V

All new grads of any nursing program has to do an internship (120 hours) after graduation, but it is paid, and many interns get job offers at the hospitals they complete their hours in.
