KSU accelerated RN program Spring 2012

Published

Ok, so I've kind of looked around the site, but I can't find what I'm looking for. I applied to the KSU accelerated nursing program for the Spring of 2012. Our applications, TEAS score, etc. already had to be turned in by May 31st. I was curious to know about how long they take to get back to you to let you know if you made it to the second round. I've got a 3.2 GPA right now, and I graduate from UGA in December with a BS in Psychology. I made a 91.3% overall score on the TEAS V. Does anyone have any idea about my chances of getting in? I took the TEAS without even taking A&P at all, but I'm taking it right now. Any advice if I do make it to the second round? I am CPR/First Aid certified and I have my CNA. Also, if anybody needs any advice about the TEAS, I'd be happy to answer some questions and tell you what I thought of it.

Thanks!

Why are the numbers so far apart? This makes me crazy!

In an attempt to channel positive news, I've taken it upon myself to purchase the book Calculate with Confidence in order to start preparing for the drug calculation test that we have to take. A friend of mine in the program said that this books helps out a lot. If I am accepted (which I will be:bowingpur), I will be able to get that out of the way. We need to have a 90% to continue in the program. Seeing as how I am doing the accelerated program anything that I can do to make it easier will help a lot. Next I am going to see if I can get and prepare those patho notes from one of my friends. This will also serve as another distraction for the next couple of weeks. I know.....I'm crazy!:nuke: Just trying to stay motivated and busy. Happy Waiting!!!

I'm with you Starlite-- I'm preparing too and was planning on getting started on the book as well! I also interviewed for the accelerated program and am also keeping it positive! I am trying to focus on my last two classes, but would really rather keep trying to find more information on the program! I have been so productive throughout this process but am feeling a little "stuck" now that it is just time to wait. I look forward to meeting you soon!!!!!

I also have the book Calculate with confidence 5th edition! Its important we are prepared for that first exam! My friend told me it happens the first couple of weeks!

i'm with you skybrooke on feeling "stuck" and taking these last 2 classes! I want to be as involved and productive as possible! It's just right around the corner, yay!!!

Also to those of you posting about trad, i am a traditional program applicant too!! should we start another thread? This one has been very helpful! though so thanks you accelerated people, we are all in this together!!

I'm stuck too, taking just one class! and I can't even find a job yet to keep me busy til Spring 2012 So this is really a good idea to get started with the book, I'll get mine this saturday :yelclap: @ForHisGlory No, its helpful here and there is another thread for KSU Spring 2012

This book seems great so far. I actually bought the 4th edition because I didn't want to spend $50-60 on the fifth edition in the event I did not get in for Spring 2012. The 4 edition was only $15....lol! They have the same information in it and I even got the interactive CD. I can relate to you all because I am not taking any classes this semester! I've been trying to find a job at a hospital also, but no interviews yet.

@ForHisGlory, I don't think we need to separate accelerated from traditional students...we all need to know about the same information, and since there are already 2 other spring 2012 threads, no need to create another one. It would save anyone that has info to share from having to post 2-3 times. I am so nervous. I hope the letters go out sooner that they planned so we can be finished with this waiting game.

Did you get yours at the bookstore? Or can I find it even cheaper online??

@Proms

I got it online from Amazon.com. I got the 4th edition that was brand new still in shrink wrap. I may get the 5th edition if I get into the program.

The letters will be mailed this week. Phew!!!

Good, I just emailed F, but no response yet. Just when I started to not think about this.....the anxiety starts again....LOL!

OMG i really hope they actually go out this week.. my fingers are literally shaking as i am typing this. The suspense is so intense..it has been such a long time coming! We started this journey all the way back in May, and if any of you are like me.. you have been stalking these threads since you started college LOL

Talking of suspense: We will hear from the school this week, my husband will know from a potential employer this week and my son will get his progress report this Friday. Too much!!!
