Hi there. I'm currently taking sci25 and was looking to see from others what gpa and nln score you add when accepted into the program. thanks :)

Hi! I'm in my first semester of kbcc's nursing program .. I got accepted with a 3.6gpa and a 133 on the NLN.

Hello @nursingstudentjess! I've been reading alot of your previous posts about the NLN and the nursing program at Kingsborough and I just wanted your opinion on a couple of things.

1. I got a 132 composite on the NLN and a 3.5 GPA, do you think I stand a chance of getting into the program? I didn't do so well on the math part and I'm a little worried

2. How do you like the program so far? :)

Hi! I think you can be a strong candidate .. When you say you didn't do well in the math section was your score above 50? I got a 62 on the math section. They really look at your English score for example I know someone who did well got a 134 but didn't do good in the English portion and didn't get accepted.

As for the program I love it! It is not a walk in the park there is a ton of reading. The tests will not be similar to what your used to .. Most answers will be correct and you have to pick the best one. Clinicals were an amazing and humbling experience.

In the meantime while you wait for to see if you've been accepted review A&P and start looking at how to do dosage calculations. I bought dosage calculations for dummies while I waited to find out about my acceptance it helped me a ton since math isn't my strong point!

Good luck!

Wow @nursingstudentjess your feedback and insight is greatly appreciated! You're so nice!! I got a 52% on the math and a 78% in the English. I'm hoping this is good enough.

Starting on dosage calculations and reviewing A&P is a great idea! I'm going to do just that!

thank you so much!!

Oh no, i got a 43% on english. Overall score is 125. GPA will be around 3.80.

Noooo...got a feeling that I won't get in

Hmmmmm....I do worry now since i did very poor on my vocabs. Did that person have a chance to appeal? Thanks.

Sorry those were the % I got correct. My "percentile rank" were 93 English, 46 Math :( and 97 Science.

Now I'm freaking out.... :,(

I believe you will get into the program.

@jayjaycee .. Your welcome! If you have any questions feel free to ask =]

We're in the same boat. I'm freaking out.

I do not believe there is an appeal process .. You have to wait it out and retake the NLN with the next group of students, I believe the nursing dept sends out letters to people who are eligible to retake the NLN. Don't quote me on it not 100% sure.

Closer to the end of January you can start looking to see if your major changed on cunyfirst under my academics. That's how I had my first clue I was accepted it will say NUR AAS/ Nur track 1 or something close to that!

Good luck to everyone hope you all make it in =]
