I currently live in Fort Hood, Texas and am waiting on my permanent residence card to start my prerequisites at the Central Texas College. I would like to make good use of my time by reading about the various courses for my prerequisites, especially because Some of these courses are tough and need extra concentration. I will be very grateful if I could get suggestions on the best text books to use on the following courses:
BIOL 2401 Anatomy & Physiology I
BIOL 2420 Microbiology for Non-Science Majors
ENGL 1301 Composition I
HPRS 2300 Pharmacology for health Professionals
Thanks

The school can tell you which books are used- that is your best source of information.

If i were you, I would start watching videos on KhanAcademy in the subjects you mentioned.

I wouldn't study anything yet - teachers vary quite a lot in their teaching (names of things, and things you're required to know). I wouldn't want to waste time on something I don't need and potentially confuse myself. Just my two cents.
Thanks for the information
Thanks, will definitely check the site.

I definitely suggest contacting the college directly because each college has their own textbook choices for each class. Sometimes these may change at the start of a new semester, so I would also suggest waiting until you are enrolled to take the class and have absolute conformation of the required text before purchasing. They can be very, very expensive - so shop around too!
Here's a bit of contact info. I gleaned from the college website:
Nursing questions, send to: [email protected]
The Department of Nursing is open Monday - Thursday from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Friday 7:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Call (254) 526-1890 and set up an advisement meeting with one of the nursing advisors. They will be able to give you specifics regarding that program and also advise you on things that you could be doing now to prepare.
Good luck!
