Kennesaw State University Nursing 2012

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello Everybody,

I received a letter from Kennesaw on Aug. 9th.....and......I've been selected for an interview for the spring 2012 accelerated program. I guess my fourth try was a charm.:yeah: I really was not expecting this because I've applied three times before and never got selected for an interview. I mentally gave up...so this was a complete surprise. Is there anyone out there that has received a letter? I'm nervous, anxious, and overwhelmed all at the same time. I guess I need to get in touch with the Career Center and schedule a mock interview. Also, I went on the KSU nursing website and saw that they no longer list the Jasper and Rome campuses for the accelerated program. Will they be taught on the Main KSU campus? I started this post because I didn't see any other post for Kennesaw's Spring admission, so if you find one let me know. Good luck to everyone that got a letter.

Oh gosh! QTqueen, I hope they don't get mad at you for using a full name and email. They watch the threads and apparently posting someone's name is not allowed, nor is posting any identifiable information like initials. Do you know if you are able to modify your post?

I'm here voluntarily moderating this thread for your benefit. From this point forward, to prevent stepping on any toes or posting specific information that isn't allowed in the public thread, I'll answer any questions you all may have through private message.

GTqueen,

I don't think starlite meant anything negative. On the other KSU accelerated thread, an All Nurses moderator told us not to use names or personal identifiable information because it is against the policies of the site. Please continue to post on the thread because it is very helpful. No one is coming at you in any way, and as a matter of fact, the AN moderator modified the identifiable information that a user posted. You can't post anyone's name and i can understand why. However, I just use the first name initial, anyone applying to KSU will know who you are talking about, and outsiders won't.:lol2:

IslandRae,

I am certainly not taking anything negatively. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't posting anything that the moderators wouldn't want on the thread. I contacted the site's moderators myself and had the post edited. I understand why they choose to have that rule. I wanted everyone to know that I come on here voluntarily so that you all may benefit from the information that I have. However, since I sometimes have a lot of information that is very specific to offer, I will provide that through private message. If you all then wish to share that information with each other, I encourage you to do so. I just get on this forum quickly and post, sometimes without thinking about all the details, and I just want to prevent any recurrence of information being posted accidentally. So, feel free to shoot me a quick message if you have any specific questions. If there are generic questions that are posted to the thread, I will do my best to answer those as well. Hope that sheds some light on my previous post. I understand tone is hard to convey when typing a message, and it didn't even dawn on me that my message could have come across another way. Please know that I'm here to help. I just want to be sure its in a manner that benefits everyone. :D

Hey thanks a lot to you both who responded. And def thanks to Queen. I contacted her, and she was straight up, but encouraging. I'll see what happens with it soon enough.

For those you that just can't wait: Littmann Stethoscopes are 20% off right now on allheart.com! And engraving is 10.99 for a limited time! Littmann stethoscopes are the most popular by far within the nursing program. So, I wanted to let you all know. :)

Is anyone else having trouble with the KSU undergraduate application? I know we have to apply to KSU before the nursing school but when I click on the link to the application it shows an error message! Any idea of what's going on??

You have to first create an account with GAcollege and then once you do that it will directly take you to the application. Hope this helps!

Hey BrigetteB! My grades are around a 3.9 and my TEAS was 99%, but don't go by these. I've read on lots of posts that a 3.0 and TEAS of 85% will get you an interview. If you want to know about the interview just let me know and I'll tell you all about it! Good luck, Brigitte! I know you'll get in!

runningman10! your TEAS score is perfect! Please help with study tips to prepare and ensure an outstanding score!

qtqueen371, What is the class schedule like for the acclerated program per hours/days? are there evening classes/weekend/online options?...

Thanks for the compliment! I just bought a TEAS study guide and worked it cover to cover. The math section is not hard at all. The biology I had some trouble with. Just work practice problems so you know how the test will look like and you will do great! Good luck to you!

jmilkah,

Both the accelerated and traditional programs schedules are set. Everyone that comes in together takes all the same classes. There is only one choice for each class every semester. With other university classes, you can pick a chem class on different days and different times that works with your schedule. But, with nursing classess, there is only one day and time available to take each class. For example, my current semester is Adult Health and Ethics on Mondays, Pharm and Mental Health on Tuesday and clinical on Wed and Thurs. Clinical is a little flexible, as they usually have options Wed-Sat, but the classes are all set for you. I hope that made sense.
