Hey you guys! I didn't see a thread for those applying to KSU for the Fall 2017 BSN Cohort, so I decided to make one. The deadline for applications is getting ready to come up and then decisions will hopefully be made shortly after, so I figured we could all be nervous and wait together :). On the other threads, people share their stats so I'll post mine below!
Overall GPA: 3.92
Best 5/7 Math & Science Grades: All A's
Best 7/12 Total Prerequisite Grade: All A's
TEAS Score: 92
Looking forward to interacting with you guys and distracting myself from classwork
Oh, the Mexican food!! We haven't found anything that comes even close here, sadly. Not a week goes by that he doesn't talk about going back. Sorry about your power. I hope it comes back and I really hope the emails start rolling in soon.
I found one place in Smyrna that is actually pretty legit. They even have sopapillas sometimes, which I loooove. I totally forget the name though haha when I think of it I'll let you know. I don't recall where you live, but it might be worth a mini road trip into Atlanta if you get a serious craving!
I thought emorys financial aid gave a good portion of the tuition if you were needs based?
If you are need based, they offer grants, work study and loans (all of which I received as well since my cost of attending is more than my EFC). I believe that their line of thinking is that whatever they don't give you, you can get in private loans. I'd really encourage you to visit some of the recent emory nursing forums or get in contact with the financial aid office if you want to see what kind of money they'll be offering. I can only speak from my experience and the others I've talked to when I say don't expect more than half the tuition (and that is being extremely generous as I have not heard of anyone getting that much). You could also lower your cost of attending by applying for need-based scholarships that are not through the school if you are eligible for those! Outside scholarships seem like the ticket to making the out of pocket cost reasonable!
