Kennesaw State Spring 2017

Published

Just wondering if anyone out there has applied for Kennesaw State for Spring of 2017. If you have did you apply for Traditional or Accelerated program. And what were your four stats?

Teas

5/7 GPA

7/12 GPA

Overall GPA

Hi, PLS how do you calculate the 84.35/90 points?

Total GPA- 20 points (multiply your GPA by 20 then divide by 4)

Top 5/7 - 30 points (math and science GPA only, multiplied by 30 then divide by 4)

Top 7/12-20 points (same as total GPA calculation)

TEAS 20 points - multiply by 20 then divide by 100

This gives you your competitive score

Oh goodness that's much sooner than I thought! When I met with her a few days before the app deadlin she said by the end of September. I'm so scared haha. I hope my grades I've gotten thus far for the program helps me

I think it's odd though that developmental psych was moved from prerequisite to major course! Did anyone else catch that on the webpage?

Lifespan is a 3000 lvl course, that is why it is considered a major requirement. It is still a prereq however.

When I met with Fran she said the total GPA includes any GPA from any school you have attended. So if you went to any other school besides KSU includes that GPA in your average GPA.

Where else are yall applying to?

I applied for Fall 2016 and didn't get in(sad face!!). I've worked on a few things and now my stats are as follows.

Overall GPA: 3.57

5/7: 3.7

7/12: 4.0

TEAS: 87.3

Competitive Score: 83.06

I'm following this thread although I am not applying for Spring 2017. I still have both CHEMs to take so perhaps I can get these scores up some. When I saw an advisor earlier this year, she really seemed to be focused on the letter grades and didn't even mention this competitive score idea. Hoping to apply for Fall 2017. Good luck to you all and keep encouraging each other.

hewy28,

I didn't do well on my TEAS Either.. I scored 72 on the second attempt.

I scored 80 on my third attempt but, KSU only accept First 2attepts within one year so I used the 72 one.

Do you know how long is traditional BSN PROGRAM?

and are you applying to any other schools?

I started an app at Herzing but stopped it. I feel real good about making it at Ksu. But I'll try Gsu if it falls through. There deadline isn't until Oct 1st. As far as the traditional program it is over 5 semesters. Spring, Fall, Spring, Summer, Fall. I think. Were as Accelerated is 4 straight semesters. I am dreading that summer for acclerated. 4 Hard course in 8 weeks. Gosh, don't know about that.

On a side note, did anyone see that only 58 people graduated with their BSN thus weekend? I hope that was only those in attendance and not the overall number. That's 58 out of 120 that should be there.

Hey Everyone,

I have been following this thread for a while now and thought I should also post my stats.

Overall GPA: 3.8

5/7: 3.57

7/12: 3.8

Teas: 83

Hopefully these stats will be enough to get me into the program. This waiting game is definitely nerve- wrecking.

hewy28, so KSU bsn program will only take 2 years?

GSU bsn program takes 3 years since they don't have summer semesters...

A little less, 5 semester. skip first summer in class 2nd summer. If you go to the KSU nursing website and open the Undergraduate student handbook on pg 95 has the schedule of courses by semester.
