I just applied to Kennesaw State's program for Fall 2011. I thought it would be fun to do a roll call to see who else is out there beginning the waiting game!
I signed up for the mock interview. They said they were really booked up and I had to get an appointment with Michael. All that I know is that he is not the person who normally does them. Good luck and congrats, guys!
As far as the nursing interview goes-I had actually checked and signed up for my interview an hour before the email came out from Fran. Rather than celebrate, I spent that hour wondering if it was just a glitch and I shouldn't have gotten one!
I got an interview for the traditional program too! I have my mock interview on the 7th and my real interview on 13th at 3pm. I called the Career Services Center within 20 minutes of getting the email! I was so scared they would be booked, and when I called they were pretty full! I am so excited!
Hey heoconbubu. I hope this doesn't come back to bite me and knocks me out of contention. I haven't done the mock interview yet, but I came across this that I think will be helpful.
It seems easy enough to apply the ideas of how to portray yourself in a positive light and apply it to a nursing school interview rather than a job. Also, I ccompiled this list from other postings on this site:
1. Why have you chosen nursing, what lead to here?
2. What experience do you have in the medical field, if any?
3. Name an ethical situation you have been in and how you handled it.
4. Name a situation that influenced a change in your personal morals.
5. Tell us about a time you had a difficult patient/customer and how did you resolve it
6. What are your strengths? weaknesses?
7. How do you time manage?
8. Tell us about a time when you made a mistake.
9. Tell us about a time you showed leadership.
10. Why are you interested in nursing?
11. Why do you feel you would be a good nurse?
12. Nursing school is hard, how do you know you are prepared to be a nurse?
Also don't forget to have a few questions prepared to ask them at the end!
Hope this helps!
I'm April 11th at 3:30--p.s. talked to a friend who is a nurse and she said that the application and interview process stressed her out more than actually working as a nurse! thought you all might find that funny! I'm going to have to agree with her that this process has been one of the more stressful things I've had to deal with!
