Kennesaw State Fall 2011

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

I just applied to Kennesaw State's program for Fall 2011. I thought it would be fun to do a roll call to see who else is out there beginning the waiting game!

sorry to scare you gtqueen, here's the link but if you are accerated it doesn't apply to you.

The thing I am most concerned about is that hospitals seem to hire blocks of new grads in the spring. Now trad. BSN's won't grad until July. I am a planner as well and I passed up other opportunities to attend KSU and graduate in spring 2013. This would have been good info to have before making the decision to accept the spot.

Did Fran happen to explain why they made the change? Is it definite, or could students possibly petition to continue through the summer? Accelerated students will be taking classes that semester. I wonder if they would let some students sign up for those classes with us....?

NO explanation. I guess we will see... Maybe if enough of us express our feelings they will make a change.

Thanks lmt4now and gtqueen for the info! I was wondering when we would hear about orientation and the list of things we need to buy. I was so excited when I got my acceptance letter that I ordered myself a stethoscope, lol. Other than than that, I'm sure there's lots to do. Sings&Shoots I am also a planner by nature and want to get things figured out. I just found out I need surgery and I will be doing that in about 2 1/2 weeks. Hopefully I can make it to the CPR certification with others starting in the fall (if a group a people go together). I look forward to meeting everyone soon!

I also ordered a stethoscope! I already have my CPR certification. I did it through North Georgia CPR - http://www.northgacpr.com/index.htm I had a couple of friends that started the program this summer and I went with them. I also went ahead and ordered my books through Amazon. Much cheaper than the bookstore. I'm also looking forward to meeting everyone. I only know a couple of people that are starting in the Fall. Most of the people I know and have had classes with started either last Spring or this Summer.

I hope your surgery goes well and you have a speedy recovery.

Thanks! It's an outpatient procedure and I should be feeling better within a week...hopefully :sstrs: haha

Also, thanks for the link on the CPR class. At least I can work on that and tracking down my immunization records from my last employer. August will be here before we know it!

Does anyone have anything exciting planned before the semester begins?

Wow thank goodness for this thread I had forgotten all about cpr class I think ill probably go to the one on july 2 from the link posted earlier anyone else interested in that one?

I think I am going to register for the July 2nd one as well. I was supposed to be with Sings&Shoots for the other class, but had a scheduling mishap and couldn't make it that night.

Also, here's a non-school sponsered Facebook page if you would like join! Just request a membership!

Sings&Shoots, do you have a list of books that we need? I usually order mine from Amazon too! Where did you find your list?

I used North Georgia CPR previously for certification. They were very good and used time efficiently. I will sign up for the July 2 class as well. Look forward to meeting you all! :)

On the North Georgia CPR website, it says if you mention promo code HEART, they will give you $5 off! :)
