I just applied to Kennesaw State's program for Fall 2011. I thought it would be fun to do a roll call to see who else is out there beginning the waiting game!

Does anyone know anyone looking for a roommate or how I should go about trying to find another nursing student?

I heard that you can just take NCLEX practice question and you can get the feel of how the test will be

HI everyone,

I have been lurking all along and have enjoyed and benefitted from this thread. Thanks for all the good info. I look forward to meeting everyone at orientation.

I was revisiting the BSN webpage and noticed a change in the calendar. It used to show 5 consecutive semesters. Now it shows that we will not have classes next summer. I confirmed with F via email. This means we will not graduate until summer 2013 instead of spring :-(

Also, FYI, orientation is scheduled for 8/8.

You scared me for a minute about late graduation. I'm in the Accelerated program, however. So, as far as I know (and it appears to be true from the website) we will still be taking classes in the Summer.

Do you mind posting the web link for the calendar you are viewing? I'd be interested to see that.

Also, I wonder why orientation is so late! I've heard it is usually a month before classes start so students have enough time to get all immunizations up-to-date, fill out paperwork, and order necessary supplies (uniforms, etc.) A week and a half isn't alot of time to do that. I'd at least like to have a list of things we need to order prior to that.

Thanks for the info and the date on orientation. I saw the change on the website too. I was a little bummed about it too, but we might be happy about it this time next year for the break.

Did she give you any other information about when paperwork for our physicals and immunization updates might be due?

I emailed Fran to find out if we would need to order anything other than a name badge before the semester starts. If we do need to order uniforms, shoes, etc., I requested that we get a list ahead of time. Since orientation is scheduled only a week and a half before the semester begins, it might be difficult to order everything and have it shipped before classes start. I'll let you guys know what I hear from Fran. :)

Well, that was a quick response from Fran! She is so good! This is what she said:

"The orientation is 8/8. I have been told not to give out any details. You will shortly be receiving a letter from *** detailing what needs to be done. I can tell you that you will order your uniforms."

So, we wait for another letter! haha. Story of our lives! :)

Thanks gtqueen! Just curious, are the accelerated classes at the Kennesaw campus as well? I had heard they were in Jasper but was wondering if they changed that since they built the new building. I'm in the traditional so I'll be there the whole time.

Accelerated was supposed to be in Rome for Fall (or Jasper if you start in the Spring), but my letter stated that all classes had been moved to Kennesaw. That's perfectly fine with me, since I live in Marietta! :) Rome would have been a LOOOOOONG drive! I would hope that all future programs will be in Kennesaw only, since they have the space now.

I am also a planner by nature, and I just want to know what to get started on! lol. I've already downloaded all of my forms from the website. I am CPR certified, but it is not Healthcare Provider. Does anyone else need to take the CPR class? We should all try to plan to take it together, if we can find a good time. I'd love to go through the class with other nursing students! :)
