Just wondering if anyone out there is planning to apply to Kennesaw State for the Fall of 2013. I know the deadline is 3 months away, but I wanted to get a thread started for anyone interested in discussing the process as we go along!
My Sony recorder is awesome. However now that I've been using it so much there are a few features I wish it had.
1. Removable SD or mini SD card for when space runs out.
2. Transfer cord so I could down load my lectures onto iTunes or something similar.
3. A microphone you can plug into it to get better sound.
4. Voice activated recording as to not waste space.

I definitely second the usb cord! I have a sony also that has been great and definitely helped me get good grades on my tests. I think re-listening to a lecture if you have time is super effective!
OMG. Went to the Dr to do blood work and get my vaccines updated- Hep B was $141 per shot!!! County clinic $80. And my insurance doesn't cover it. Awesome.
Ouch! Where do we get a list of immunizations we need? I submitted something to the college a few years ago when I applied. I can't remember what additional shots I had to get at that time.
Send me your email and I will forward you what they sent me. It's basically what you'd get at orientation however I had already had my annual physical scheduled so she went ahead and gave me the paperwork. Have you scheduled your physical yet? My doctor had a 4 month wait for my appt. Ridiculous.
Hello everyone!
I just wanted to introduce myself. I joined allnurses.com awhile ago but never kept up with it. I just got back on and started reading this topic forum. I have shared everyone's experiences through the last couple of months with regards to getting into Kennesaw State University nursing program; applying, waiting for letters, going through the interviews, and waiting again on letters. I wish I knew about this topic forum when it was started. Everyone has been very supported and has helped out their fellow nursing students. In addition to being accepted into Kennesaw's nursing program I was accepted to Georgia State University and GPC's nursing programs but I am choosing to go to Kennesaw State University. I really think the school is beautiful and that they have a great nursing program.
I am currently attending GPC and will be finishing up on two remaining prerequisites (Stats and Sociology) over the summer. I am signed up for the June 19th orientation and see that a few of you have signed up on that date too. Depending on how many people are attending, maybe we will be able to meet and formally introduce ourselves. My wife and I moved to Georgia 1 year ago and now that I will be starting at a new school I do not know anybody and would like to meet some of my fellow nursing students.
Stephanie - My CPR license has expired and depending on day and time the class is being taught I will take the class with you. Let me know the day, time, and location if you would like my company.
bware9 - If you have an iPhone there is an app called "Audio class notes" that records class lectures. It is a free app! I am not sure if Andriod has the same app but I use it all the time and it is great.
To all my other fellow nursing students that did not get in this Fall, don't give up! Keep applying and good luck!
The nursing department has a list of instructors we can use and they are cheaper than other programs in town. If we could all pick a date that may work I think it would be neat to do it together.
I'm originally from SC but have been at KSU for the past two semesters. I think it's harder as an "older" student to make friends at KSU but I know that will change once nursing starts. I'm also taking a class at GPC this summer. I was also accepted into their program but will be declining my spot.

Can anyone recommend a good voice recorder for lectures? I want to buy one this summer before classes start on the fall.
