Im planning on doing Part-Time. I have to because Im a single-mom and have to work full-time.. if you coule let me know that would be great. I here it's one of the shortest around West Michigan. Have you found anything out about this yet? I'm just about to apply to Kellogg (transferring from KVCC as well) when my physiology class is finished (Monday! wahoooo) and I'm tring to figure out if I should apply to the full-time or part-time. I just want to get in somewhere and get started already! BTW, I'm also a single mom :)

No, I haven't I am taking my Phys. class this coming semester, then I am transferring hopefully afterwards to Kellogg, heard it's a shorter list. P.S. Im a single mom as well! :)

i'm going to apply after tomorrow when i take my final for physio!

It generally takes 1-2 years to get in so if you apply this spring you may start in 2011, but most likely 2012.

Im actually taking the class over, because the last teach I had was cool, but I hated his way of teaching! I got a C in the class but U have to have a b-... So, I am gonna try again! What should I look for, and any tips? It's greatly appreciated! :)

just a reminder of the following section of the terms of service:

"while it is important to be able to network, everyone should be mindful of the following:

it is a small world - when we narrow it down to a state and throw in some personal info, there is actually a pretty good chance someone may recognize you if you are not careful. your privacy is paramount to us.

while allnurses.com is a wonderful place to vent (without excess personally identifiable details) it is not the place to express why ("x" specific person, place or program) is terrible. gripe away, but since we cannot permit allegations to be made about named entities, your care in not naming them is very much appreciated.

please do not give out personal information about others. do not name names where anyone could identify the person in any facility including your nursing programs."

thank you, and good luck in your programs!

Take Pharmacology online at a different school if you can this summer or fall. KCC's class is good, but you will be swamped, and I wish I had known that other schools offered it online to non-nursing students (this for full-time more than part-time, however you can get one nursing class out of the way before you begin). I believe either JCC or LCC offer it online. I also recommend taking medical terminology before beginning the program. They integrate it into the first year, but it would help if you had a class before you start the program. Next, at KCC a 77.5% is the cutoff point for passing and failing, and the grade scale is adjusted up a +/-. Next, know which teachers are your style, as there is a large difference in teaching style at the school. Finally, if you want to get in the part-time program it will probably be 2012 before you start.

JM, thanks for the tips. Sucks, that I wouldn't get in until 2012, the waiting lists are crazy around here. I may take a more expensive approach, I just dont have time to be sitting around for 2 years for a nursing program. Get's kinda hard! Kwesey, did u get my last message?!? Let me know, I would like tips If I could for his class, greatly appreciated. I also heard taking Pharm at JCC is awesome, and it's online and very easy. Medical Term, isn't gonna be a problem, already took it and have been working at a hospital for 2 years now, and have prior nursing experience in an LTC. :) Thanks Ladies, Appreciate it greatly!
