Things to consider: Why did you leave the floor in the first place? If you left because you got burnt out quickly or didn't like the schedule then stay where you are.
Are you sure you want to be a CRNA? If so, then move to critical care.
Even though you do a lot of chores on weekends you're still available for your family the most part. What does your family think? I'd ask them too.
I get it though. I work five days a week and on weekends am busy doing chores, errands, groceries, etc. I feel like I never truly have a day off. I'm too tired after work to work on laundry, cleaning, etc a lot of days. My goal is to get everything done during the week so I can truly have weekends free. I've been trying for a few years now. LOL!!!
It's a big decision to make. Going back to three 12's will be hard and take some getting used to, and is even really hard when you are used to it sometimes. I just had three brutal shifts in a row in my ICU and needed today to recover from them. I finally dragged myself out of bed in the late morning and took care of a few things on the computer and phone, but just vegged for the most part today. I had a lot of other things to get done today, but I listened to what my body was telling me it needed.

Hello everyone!
I am currently in Endoscopy which has a great the schedule, I work Monday-Friday 8 hour shifts and on one day a week call for 3 hours and weekend call every 6 weeks but I was previously a floor nurse on a neuro/PCU floor and I miss my skills! I applied to the CCU which would be 12's and back to every other weekend which I didn't miss because of my family but honestly I'm so busy during the week now I save all my chores for the weekend and feel like I see less of them. BUT I also am considering becoming a CRNA.
Any thoughts/ideas?
