okay well 4 people responded on this forum that they haven't received letters yet... so we are either the only 4/12 alternates who did not receive letters & did not get accepted, or the letters just haven't arrived yet! if anyone else has any info please post!!! i'm extra stressed out now lol. if you call them, can they tell you if you are one of the students accepted??

I’m stressed too! Lol but I called yesterday cus I’m off island and the lady said they are not allowed to give info over the phone. You have to physically walk into the office and show your Id to find out if you got in. But she said I could send an email. I emailed [email protected] yesterday morning and still haven’t heard anything yet.

I emailed last Friday and no email yet ?

Aren't there 17 alternates? There were 27 of us total at the orientation and only 10 got accepted.

there were 12 alternates!

wow! all this time I thought it was 17.

well Crystallyn told me it was only 12 this sem. so since there's only 12 that means majority of the alternates will be accepted since they sent out 8 letters! so unless the 4 people who responded on this forum that haven't received a letter are actually the bottom 4 people on the alternate list, it must just be a mail delay or something?? at least that's what i'm hoping??

i don't know if they accept hawaii applicants first of not, but they should. it's what they do for UH Manoa medical school. they should at least do it for the KCC RT program. either that, or charge out of state applicants and arm and a leg so it's so expensive for them that they will go elsewhere. they can then charge the residents less tuition.

I heard that UH accepts transfers over locals, I met with the director of the nursing program and he made multiple comments that sounded money hungry. He also stated "We only accept 12 out of 400+ applications per term because we need money".

I also looked into UH Manoa and he was very discouraging .. it was as if I had no chance... he also told me the same thing, they only take 12 a year if you’re not directly coming from high school.

Definitely would choose KCC over Manoa. I work at KMCWC as a CNA & all the nurses i’ve talked to went to KCC or HPU. I haven’t met one nurse from UH yet. KCC way cheaper & seems to have a better program.

Anyone get any news today?

My friend who was alternate said he called and the letters sent out on Friday BUT it has to go through the mail room first

Man this is the most nerve-racking thing ever! ? my friend and I who are alternates did not receive anything in the mail yet.

Did anyone else receive a letter today? My friend and I both were accepted! ?
