Hey guys what should I do if I don’t have personal insurance? It’s one of the health requirements and I heard I could get one from NSO from my friend in LA. Still waiting a call back from nursing department.

Hey, kind of a random person to reply but I'm in a current cohort at KCC. I'd recommend looking into HMSA quest or other affordable options if money is a factor for you as it was for me. If you file taxes independently and make under a certain amount you qualify. Its very easy to apply and its something to consider. Another thing that I talked about with the health clearance lady is to acknowledge one of those weird health insurance sites. The kind that oney cover the bare minimum and charge $50 or something a month. They were hesitant when I brought it up but they might accept it if you ask!

Hi!! Has anyone heard anything about those on the alternate list??? Was wondering around when would it be likely for us to get a call? Or is it totally random??

Hi,

I didn’t hear anything from them yet but I think they will send it via mail...did you apply for the LPN program as well?

You can purchase insurance through companies such as HMSA/Kaiser, etc when it is open enrollment (10/15) but the plan would not be effective until 1/1. Also you could purchase the UH student plan for spring 2020. Enrollment begins 12/2.

Thanks! I’ll try that

I tried to enroll that student insurance like 5 smesters ago and remember it was like 1.5k per semester... :(

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows how many people are on the alternate list and how likely are the alternates to get accepted?

Hi,

are you on the alternate list as well? I didn’t see your stats that’s why.. I think it really depends if there’s a spot before the class starts.. and there’s actually a ranking made for alternates.. they can’t disclose it though..

I am.

I got a little discouraged reading everyone's high TEAS score, I forgot to post mine.

Prerequisites: all A's

Co-requisite: 1 A and 1 B

TEAS: 84.7

have any of you alternates heard anything yet?? I missed the orientation on Friday. did they say how many alternates they are accepting??

They accepted 10 people and might accept more depending on instructor availability. Didn’t say how many

Hi guys,

Did any alternates get an email or phone call yet?
I’m here waiting anxiously...
