Aloha Everyone,

The Mandatory New Student Orientation zoom meeting for both accepted and alternate students was today. Just checking in, did any of you alternate students get in or know of other alternate students who got in yet? I haven't heard anything yet and I just wanted to see if admissions made their alternate choices already or if they were still working on it. Thank you

No, I haven’t heard anything yet either. I think they are still working on it. Hopefully they would accpet 6 more students..???

Thanks, Seoyoung for sharing your update! I hope they're able to find another Clinical Instructor in time. In the meeting, they said if they find a third instructor they'll add a third cohort with 6 more students. Right now they have 2 instructors with 12 students. I found their KCC Clinical Instructor job posting and posted it on several nurse forums, travel nurse FB groups, as well as sent it to all my nurse friends to try and help spread the word about the job opening. Here is the job posting if you want to help share and spread the word! The more eyes that see it, the better chance of them finding someone in time ?

Aloha Everyone,

Its been a while since this thread was last updated. I wanted to share the news that I got into the Fall 2022 program! I received an email earlier today stating that I was a chosen alternate! I received the email today (8/2), I need to accept by (8/4) and submit all health requirements by (8/15). So if you find yourself on the waitlist, get those health requirements done! They definitely can make or break your application. It took me a few months to get all the health requirements done. Stay positive and keep chipping away! You can't help but move forward if you keep moving - Perseverance is key.

Congratulations! I also got an email this afternoon that I got finally accepted into the program?☺️ I am trying to submit all the health documents, but it’s very confusing? Does it matter where I get the titer blood tests for VAR, MMR, and Hepatitis B? I feel like I have tons of things to do in such a short period of time..

Awesome Lyn!!
Congrats ? we’ll be in the same cohort together! They probably were able to hire a third clinical instructor, which means, 6 additional alternate students got accepted! So I think our overall class is going to be around 18 students? I don’t think it matters where you get the titer blood test done. I went through my PCP. All I know is that they have to be positive or reactive. Also, if you have any questions, Karla Cepeda is the person to ask for Health requirement related inquires. However, she takes forever to respond to the general nurse health email they gave us. I would email her directly at her UH email if you aren’t getting a response from the Nurse health email.

Thank you for the information TYoshi! I'm looking forward to meeting you next week during jump start session?
