KCC ADN FALL 2022

Published

Hello fellow nursing students, I wanted  to see if anyone else applied for the KCC ADN program for Fall of 2022, and see what everyones stats are like.

Prereqs: 2 B's, rest A's

Co-reqs: A & didn’t take pharmacology yet

TEAS: 84.7

Certificated CNA, worked in the medial field for 2 years with direct patient care & 13 years as a receptionist for an outpatient clinic

Hi @kikiryryxforever,

First off, I applied for fall 2019 with all A's, 80.7% TEAS, Certified Nursing Assistant. I was alternate listed at first, went to orientation and after two months, I got a call from the counselor to inform me that I got accepted to the program. As far as your stats, you may want to retake your B's only because it boost up your application and the nursing department admits students with all As and in the mid 80s on TEAS, and with some CNA cert.

I recently graduated from the program last year of May. To be honest, the program is brutal, but all of it is manageable.

I wish you the best of luck on your acceptance.

Aloha! This will be my first attempt at applying for the KCC ADN program (Fall 2022). I literally just took the TEAS test today for the first time and I'm dropping my application off at the post office this Wednesday. Here are my current stats

Prereqs: 3 B's, rest A's

Co-reqs: both A's

TEAS: 87.3%

No patient experience

Hi! This is my first time applying.

Pre-reqs: All A's (except B in micro)

Co-reqs: Both A's

TEAS: 86%

GPA: 3.92

+Completion of CNA program

Hope I can get in... ??

Wow, you have a good TEAS score!

I heard that they're accepting fewer students due to COVID causing limited clinical rotation space for students. Has anyone heard anything about the number of students they're accepting this application round? The last time I talked to an advisor (precovid), they told me that on average they receive 150 applications per semester and usually accept 18-24 students. However, I read on a different post that due to COVID they only accepted somewhere around 9 students for a previous application round? Ugh, as if the program wasn't already competitive enough. I'm hoping that's not true or that they figured out a solution and are able to accept more for Fall 2022

Just a quick edit! I talked to the nursing program people and found out that I was able to switch out one of my B courses for a different course that I got an A in. So my updated stats are 2 B's and everything else A's with TEAS 87.3% and no patient experience. I just dropped off my application at the post office this morning! Every little bit makes a difference with this program ?

I sent an email a few days ago and they told me that they are not sure how many students they are taking for the fall yet. But I think they will admit about 10-12 students.

Wow that’s nice! I hope we both can get in? plsss

Does anyone know when Fall acceptance letters are mailed out? Is it mid-April? Does that include people on the waiting list? Or do waiting list people get notified even later? It's so inconvenient having to put everything on hold for 1/3 to 1/2 of the year. I was offered a new job position, but I don't want to accept it if I get into the program. It sucks being in limbo for almost half a year, only to find out you didn't get into the program ??

Hi @kikiryryxforever

When I first applied for the program, I did not include a humanities co-req course. I'm not sure why I didn't, I think I didn't know that I had a course completed that was considered a humanities course. That semester, I did not get in. The next semester, I realized that I did have one and included that I completed both co-reqs and got waitlisted. I ended up getting into the program and am in our third semester now.

I did retake the TEAS in between and had a bit of a higher score, but I really do think they prefer that students have their co-reqs completed. Hope that helps! Best of luck to you.

Hey anyone hear back yet?
