Hello :)
I have a question. I am taking my boards next Wednesday(the 23rd). I purchased kaplan's qbank and I'm doing 200 questions per day ( I'll be done with them by this Saturday). Anyways, these questions are very challenging and they really do keep me on my toes. I know I should not get hung up on predictor scores because the nclex rn is one unpredictable exam BUT My qbank average is anywhere from 54%-68% and I can't find it anywhere on the kaplan site where it explains what an "average" qbank test scores should be. BTW: never in my life have I ever scored less then 80% on nursing exams (seeing 54%-68% hurts my big heart lol :redbeathe)
Thank you!
Hi everyone!I was wondering if anyone can give any further insight as to my Kaplan scores. I'm taking the NCLEX in 10 days and don't feel confident at ALL
I also have tremendous pressure to pass the first time, due to a recent job offer, as well as subsequent submission to CGFNS for my visa screen if i do pass the first time around.
My scores are as follows:
Diagnostic - 59%
QT1 - 59%
QT2 - 53%
QT3 - 56%
QT4 - 55%
QT5 - 60%
QT6 - 63%
QT7 - 65%
Readiness test - 69%
Qbank - 61% (all Q's completed)
I also did LaCharity's prioritization, delegation, and assignment book and my scores have ranged from 57% to 90%
At this point, I just feel burned out from doing so many questions-- but I do review and read the rationale behind all the questions. My concern is that I don't consistently do "bad" in one single area ... e.g. for QT 6, my worst percentage was HP & Maintenance (52%) but for QT7, it was my highest at 74%! So I don't really know where to focus my studying. It fluctuates like this within all areas. I feel like this almost shows that my knowledge base is spotty!
Anyone have any suggestions/tips on how to study for these next 10 days??
Thanks... and good luck to everyone!!!!
Your scores look good. You've steadily gotten better as time has gone on which is really impressive considering the tests get harder as you move forward. According to my Kaplan instructor, with a Readiness Test score of 69% you have a 98.30% chance of passing the NCLEX.
Try watching the lectures on demand these next few days. They are really helpful.
The way Kaplan works is they want you to get at least a 60%. You only need a 50% to pass the NCLEX and the way they see it, if you have a little 10% buffer, it will help you in case you panic/freak out/brain fart during the test. I was getting 50-75% on all my Kaplan stuff and I just walked out last Thursday in 75 questions passing.

did you feel like kaplan prepared you well for the test? Was Kaplan and Nclex similiar?
Hey guys, tomorrow is the big day! I just finished my last set of 50 q-bank questions with a overall total average of 65%... Pretty happy with that. I did those 3 Sample NCLEX-RN tests... On Test #1 I got 68%, Test #2 (which I just took this morning and was freaking myself out) got 56% and Test #3 I got 90%... I also did the alternative quiz type thing where they give you like 27 practice questions that are ONLY select all that apply and drag and drop questions and got 40%, but who really does well on those anyway? Lol...
Noyesno, great job on QT 7 and Jen, great job on readiness test!
The anxiety hit me first thing this morning when I woke up and it's been constant all day long so far.
Thank goodness hopefully this will all be done tomorrow!!!!!!
My test is at 8:00am...

I'll be keep you in my thoughts and prayers prettyinpink! :)
That is a really good average for the question bank. Feel confident in that.
Don't worry about that 56%, the 90% more than makes up for it! I got a 60% on the first two and still need to do the last one.
I'm going to look into those alternative quiz types, I need a lot of help on SATA questions. I'll probably get a 10%.
Try to get some good rest tonight. You know how to answer NCLEX questions!!! :)
Let us know how it goes!
