Kaplan's percentages NOT tabulated correctly!

Published

Ok, I'm fuming....after spending weeks taking quizzes (Q-bank) and seeing my "scores", I happened to notice something odd on the last couple. So I went and did the math myself.

Their system doesn't score it properly a full 3/4 of the time! NOT kidding. I had tests that said I got a 67 where I really got a 64 and tests where it said I got 54 and I really got 58.

I also noticed that the total of "correct" and "incorrect" answers rarely added up to the total number of questions I did each time. Unreal.

Anyway, to find your true percentage, for those who don't know how: take the total number you got correct and divide it by the total number of questions in your quiz. That's your grade.

I'm ticked!

I haven't even taken all of the Q-bank tests yet. There's just not enough hours in the day. I studied 9 hours today (yikes!) doing Mosby and Saunders questions and reviewing the rationales on the questions we got wrong. (I studied with a friend/classmate who's taking hers on Tuesday) I've got just tomorrow and I'm only going to bone up on the things I'm a little weak at: lab values, med interactions, renal and endocrine.

I feel like throwing up half the time because Thursday is coming up too quickly and I keep scoring in the 50's on the Kaplan tests (with the exception of a 47!) I just want to do well and pass. I know the more it goes over 75 questions, the more I'm going to freak out and be liable to panic and screw up.

Hey NJNursing....yeah...tomorrow is the NCLEX-RN...:uhoh3: I think at this point is just review what you're weak in. I told myself I wouldn't study today...but I may just briefly go over the meds...because I certainly don't know EVERY med in the book....I'm kinda nervous now...but we'll hopefully do ok. Keep the faith.
