Ok, I'm fuming....after spending weeks taking quizzes (Q-bank) and seeing my "scores", I happened to notice something odd on the last couple. So I went and did the math myself.
Their system doesn't score it properly a full 3/4 of the time! NOT kidding. I had tests that said I got a 67 where I really got a 64 and tests where it said I got 54 and I really got 58.
I also noticed that the total of "correct" and "incorrect" answers rarely added up to the total number of questions I did each time. Unreal.
Anyway, to find your true percentage, for those who don't know how: take the total number you got correct and divide it by the total number of questions in your quiz. That's your grade.
I'm ticked!

I definitely agree. It's really dumb. By the way I finished the last Question Trainer and here are the last 3 tests that I scored: QT 5- 63, QT- 62.5 (63), and QT 7- 58....disappointed about the last one...but I feel that I am somewhat ready for the test....I mean we only need 50% correct anyways right??? Am I ok??? I just want to get the test done and over with and never ever have to worry about it again!! :angryfire Actually I'm not sure if there was a thread here that said someone got 50-60 on the tests and they still passed.....Hmmm...
Yeah, you'll be fine :)
You might want to do the math yourself, however, and see if those scores are even right :angryfire
You're ready.....going Thursday, right? I'm taking Q #6 tomorrow, we shall see....

Are ya'll looking at the rationales for the ones you've missed to make sure you thoroughly understand them?? I found that really helped me all thru school AND in studying for the NCLEX.
PLUS it will help you get those scores up...some of the same materials get repeated in subsequent tests.

Yep. I've been doing that. Actually reviewing Question Trainer 7 now. Thanks!. And thanks RNs2BRwe! Yes I'm taking the exam Thursday. I'm not going to study tomorrow. I need to give myself a break.....
Of course! Not only the ones I missed, but all of them: just because I got an answer correct doesn't mean I didn't guess, or get it right for the wrong reason.
At this point, I don't care so much about getting 65% ....from what I can see here, getting high 50s also= pass.
As long as I understand the material, I just kindof roll my eyes at some of the more ridiculous rationales Kaplan has:uhoh3: . I've tested high 70, 80s with Saunders/Lippincott's. Kaplan is just my thorn, lol....
While you're "breaking", I'll be most likely finishing up what's left on my question trainer....I have something like 175 to go. Plus the two tests to take on Wed and Friday that will take me like 3-4 hours each
Don't worry, we'll be sending you powerfully good thoughts on Thursday, just like we did for pri4fun :)

Thank you :) I'm hoping she did ok...I'm sure she did. I actually did like 84% of the Q-bank..but I'm pretty much getting the hang of Kaplan's questions...Some people have said that the NCLEX was a little more straight forward, so maybe I will do ok. We'll see...

Just to clarify this one point: Most test takers (prepared or not, passers and failers) will only GET around 50%. The computer will 'keep' you around 50% by making the questions easier or harder. It's that difficulty level, not the percentage correct, that determines pass/fail. For example, if you're needing really easy questions to stay at 50%, you won't pass.
Oh ok..I see. I guess the most important thing is that I have some confidence at this point. Thanks for the clarification.
Oh actually...I'm sorry, I wasn't clear with my post to RNs2BRwe. I do understand about the level of difficulty...sorry about that.

I haven't even taken all of the Q-bank tests yet. There's just not enough hours in the day. I studied 9 hours today (yikes!) doing Mosby and Saunders questions and reviewing the rationales on the questions we got wrong. (I studied with a friend/classmate who's taking hers on Tuesday) I've got just tomorrow and I'm only going to bone up on the things I'm a little weak at: lab values, med interactions, renal and endocrine.
I feel like throwing up half the time because Thursday is coming up too quickly and I keep scoring in the 50's on the Kaplan tests (with the exception of a 47!) I just want to do well and pass. I know the more it goes over 75 questions, the more I'm going to freak out and be liable to panic and screw up.
