Kaplan vs Hurst Review Courses

Hello Everyone,

I really need help I'm preparing to take boards and would like to take a review course, but I'm not sure who to choose. If there's anyone who has taken either Kaplan or Hurst I would really love to hear what you thought of their review classes.

i took a kaplan review and i thought it was great. they give you sooo many practice questions that were very similar to the ones i had on my exam. there were some discrepancies between the book and video lectures online but the instructor verified questionable information for me. i thought it was very good. i passed on my first try.

i heard that hurst is more of a content review and kaplan is more test-taking strategies.

I took Kaplan and it was great. Questions were definitely similar to the ones on the Nclex. I also found their "decision tree" very helpful, I used it for almost every question. I don't really know anything about hurst. Kaplan rocks!:yeah:

I took the Hurst. It was a very entertaining class. Hurst definitely puts everything together and makes everything "click." I also have the Saunders Q&A and that has plenty of questions to go over. At the end of the classes, you are able to access 6 practice tests (125 questions each). I felt the Hurst was extremely helpful refresher course. I recommend it! :)

For those that took Hurst, what are you getting on the practice tests? I've taken two and got a 68% and 76%.

I just got news that I passed the NCLEX!!! These were my scores on the Hurst Q Review: 62%, 64%, 58%, 67%, 70%, 68%. I always went over the questions, answers, and rationales after each test.

Thanks tetris queen! How did you study pharm? Did you study anything extra besides the pharm sheets hurst provides?

Honestly, I didn't study pharm. The meds I studied were from the Hurst book and Q Bank. From searching through the forum here, people say they spend so much time studying meds and they end up seeing maybe two. Good luck!

I am currently taking HURST. My 1st test I got a 64%. Currently working on my 2nd. So far I love Hurst!!!!
