  1. The 120 hours does not apply to the PICU. I just got hired on that unit without any ICU clinical experience. It took about a week to hear back from the recruiter. I listed the PICU as my first choice in my email.
  2. Is anyone else going to be doing the peds orientation in January?
  3. Congrats and thanks for the tips

llg, I agree that high heels probably aren't the best idea. I never wear them so I'm not very comfortable or confident in them. I will probably go for a pair of low heels like you suggest.

  6. I really like the Prioritization book
  7. I plan on taking the NCLEX in the next couple of weeks! Very nervous :)
  8. Ashley, thank you for the great response! I now have a better idea of what PICU nursing is really like. I have a PICU interview coming up and am hoping I can demonstrate I have the skills you mentioned.
  9. Can anyone suggest some professional and practical/comfortable shoes to wear at an interview? I have one coming up!
  10. Nurse clinician positions are the entry level jobs, often times it sepcifies "entry level."
  11. Thanks tetris queen! How did you study pharm? Did you study anything extra besides the pharm sheets hurst provides?
  12. Can anyone tell me more about the day in the life of a PICU nurse? What are the most common types of patients you see? What skills help you to be successful in your job? Thanks!
