HI! I'm new to the site but have been an all nurses "stalker" for a couple years now to answer my nursing student questions.
I'm planning on taking the NCLEX around Christmas of this year. I took Kaplan a few weeks ago and am looking for advice regarding a few things...
First, my test scores have significantly DECREASED since taking Kaplan. My diagnostic score was 71, my readiness score was 66, and my first question trainer was 64. The instructor said that this was not unheard of, and i shouldn't worry. I'm getting totally freaked out, at this rate my NCLEX score will be like 30. Does anybody know what the goal for the Kaplan trainers are? I'm going to complete them all as well as the QBANK, i'm using the 5-week Kaplan syllabus.
Any other random advice people have would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!!

That sounds about right actually. Scores go down as you go on because the tests get harder. I did Kaplan online when I was studying, and I got 64-65% on the first two trainers and then like 54% on the third one. I quit writing down my scores in my course book at that point so I can only imagine it got worse, lol! I passed NCLEX in 75 questions. Just keep practicing as many QBank questions as you can and you'll be fine. Good luck! Its a miserable test and the wait is worse but when its over you'll be amazed at the weight off your shoulders!

I am taking Kaplan online as well right now. My QT was 73, qtrainer2 was 82, QT 3 - 65, QT-4 - 62 and QT-5 - 51%. I went to look at the analysis of where I am scoring low. For me it's Pharmacology and Managment of Care. So I email my instructor and she told me I need to read content in thoses areas. I am planning on taking QT6 this week and QT7 next week. If I score above 65% on QT7 then it tells me I am ready to take the exam. If not I need to study more content before I take the exam. If you took the in class course, you might want to talk to your instructor.
