I took Hurst Review in January live class, but the online is okay as well. It the same. Hurst Review goes over the content for the exam and that's what needs to be understood to take the exam. I also took Kaplan and did not pass, so this time I think that I will using Hurst. My instructor from Kaplan said that we need to know the content in order to pass the exam and if you are weak in just one area you will fail the exam. Good luck taking the exam next time.

you need to study and know your content. I have taken Kaplan and failed and this time I am taking Hurst Review. This review the content that you need to know for the exam. Much easy to do then read the whole Kaplan book. My Kaplan instructor told me if I failed it was because I did not know enough content. I should of done Hurst first and than kaplan qbank questions because then I would of had my content down and only needed to work on critical thinking. Kaplan questions are good. Just remember you need to know the content in order to pass.

I took the live review from Hurst. It only a few days course. It four days around 28 hours of review of content.

I have not finished NCLEX 3500, but I should finish this week. I am review the pharmacology which is one area I score low on. I am review the course book of Kaplan, but I know on the exam most of the med questions I do not usually know.

I review about four hours a day. Hurst was much different than Kaplan. Kaplan went over questions, while Hurst actually went over content that we should know for the exam. I should of taken Hurst first and then did Kaplan, then I probably would of passed. I did not know enough content on the exam and that's why I failed.

I took Hurst Review instead of Kaplan. I live in Arizona. I feel that I needed to work on my content. That's what my instructor told me when I failed. She stated I needed to know more content in order to pass. It took me a month before I studied again, but I am taking my exam in early March. I am reviewing my content each day as well as doing questions. I don't want to take the exam again. It is too hard to prepare to study again.

I am also taking it in March, but I have already taken it once. I was extremely stress the week before the test, but this time I more relaxed. Just try some relaxing techniques. Do not stress or freak out before the test. You need to relax and you will be fine.

I would advise not to take Kaplan again. I also failed using Kaplan and I took Hurst Review and I am taking the exam again in the next 10 days. When I got my report back, I was weak in one area and near passing all the others. I was able to stay in touch with my instructor and she told me that I needed to know my content better and to use NCLEX 3500 plus the LaCharity - Priortizing and Delegation book. That is what I am doing this time. I was very please with Hurst because they actually went over the content for the exam. Hope this helps. If you can get a refund from Kaplan do so if you took the live course not the online course.

I too failed with Kaplan, and then I just recently took Hurst Review. I know that I need to know content in order to pass. Hurst stated that you need to know the content in order to answer questions. I am taking my exam again in less than two weeks. I've review Hurst notes and doing questions this time and I am getting more of them right then wrong. I am scoring in the 60 to 70's with NCLEX 3500 and Lippincott. I am positive that I will be prepared this time. I know how you feel when you fail at 75 as I did the same.

This will help you will priortizing and delegation questions on the exam. It's a must have. I had gotten this book my last semester from nursing school and did not open it until I failed the exam the first time. I should of studied from it and I probably would of passed the exam. One of the areas I failed was management of care and it's I think the questions are quite good. I used Kaplan and their questions on managment of care I did quite well on, so I decided not to use it. It was a mistake.

I just took the Hurst Review in January and I found the book and the course very interesting. I was told if you need content review, Hurst is the course. One of my classmates failed twice with Kaplan and just passed this January using Hurst. She agreed with me that Hurst was the right review course. If you know your content very well, Kaplan is the course. I also failed thru Kaplan, but I know my content was the weak area. It was good information from Hurst that will make me pass this time around.

You need to know what the state retaking requirements are. I am from a state that says you can retake in 45 days. Look up on your state board and it should tell you. You will also get an analysis of your test results. It has three levels, below passing, near passing or passed that sections. I have failed as well and I am making sure I know the content better. In order to pass, you need to know content in order to answer the question.

I was told by my instructor to score at least 60% on the Qbanks and 65% on the Qtrainers. If you are getting the same type of question wrong, you should read over the content in that area. Make sure you know your lab values and what they mean. Ex: hypomaganesium, graves disease, cushing syndrome etc.

Saunders questions are much easier than Kaplan questions. How are your scores on Saunders? Are they at least 75%? If you feel confidence on your content, then you should have no problem. Kaplan qbanks questions are harder than Saunders. My instructor told us we need to know content in med-surg quite well in order to pass. I am taking it for my second time and did not know content as well, so this time I am studying my content as well as doing questions. Hope this helps.
