Everyone in my graduating class is passing nclex!
You have got to get HURST REVIEW!! I passed my NCLEX 2 weeks ago! I did the online version and listened to it over and over again! And guess what...the questions came easy to me! All this crap about doing tons of NCLEX questions..BOGUS! If you dont know your core-content, how is doing thousands of NCLEX questions going to help you?! You either know the S&S of hypothroidism or you dont! My advice... do the online HURST REVIEW! I recorded on my voice recorder and took it EVERYWHERE!!! It comes with its own nclex questions, helpful resourse pages (like pages on isolation precations, drug calculation practice, and test taking strategies!) I cannot stress this enough! Everyone in my Graduating class is passing this thing and weve all done HURST REVIEW!!!!!!!!

Taking the NCLEX-RN in a couple of days....Nervous!!! Any Advice???
I took the NCLEX today. According to the Pearson Trick I passed, but just like everyone says, you do walk out of there second guessing yourself. My advice is to get the HURST REVIEW! I know your taking it soon, so if you dont have it your probably SOL, but everything on my test, was covered on the HURST REVIEW! Even a made up disease called "fifths disease." It really isnt that hard though. Make sure you have all your lab values memorized, and your blood studies. Study contact precautions, endocrine, DKA, hypo/hyerkalemia. It really is just based on your judgement. You have to know which PT you would go see first, which patient to assign to a floater, and safety. Its very easy to understand...and all these posts i read on here that people say they think the NCLEX was spoken in a different language... totally not true. Each question was less than a line long. Hope this was helpful. If I can pass it...and I usually have poor judgement on tests...especially the hesi... then you can pass it! GOOD LUCK!

Help HESI exit exam.
I freaked out about this exam for weeks!!! Let me tell you, first of all...its not that bad! Just make sure you read the question a few times! SOOO many questions I got wrong and just wanted to slap myself because I knew the answer! The only thing I remember from that test is a few CVP questions, and when to feed your patient after you gave insulin. Oh, and there were some diet questions. Dont stress it. Just take your time, and make sure you understand what the question is asking you. PS...I hate freakin hesi's!

For those of you who did the HURST REVIEW prior to your NCLEX, DO you feel it helped you to pass? Was most info from the review covered on the NCLEX? Thanks!

Anyone attending or planning on attending pjc:?
Dont go to PJC! We lost about 60% of our class during the third semester. None of the instructors seem to have your interests in mind. The tests come out of left field, and honestly...I dont think studying helps prepare me! Im about to graduate in December, and this has been the WORST experience of my life! Plus, they added hesi exams that everyone entering the program as of Aug 09 MUST PASS or your out! GOOD LUCK!

Pensacola Junior College?
I am currently enrolled in the PJC program and am having some MAJOR issues with the way the program is ran. We (the entire Aug 2008 class, 110 of us), are spreading the word on how horrible the program is, and are even trying to get the local newspapers and radio stations involved. I am in my 3rd semester, and am due to graduate in December 2009 with my RN degree, If I pass this Adults 2 and OB/Peds class of course. I currently have an 80% in both classes, and have heard that in the past, students entered the final with 85%'s and FAILED OUT OF THE PROGRAM! How do they keep the program running with statistics like that?! One test, that can boot you out! We are extremely bitter, as they take our money, and our time away from us to NOT TEACH US, NOT CARE ABOUT US, AND NOT EVEN WANT TO TAKE THE TIME TO HEAR OUR COMPLAINTS! Im sure this is a money issue. They keep us going through Adults 2, and fail us out so we will spend more money to get back in, the "re-entry program!" How can a student who made a 98% on the first semesters final, an 85% on the second semester's final and go into the 3rd semesters final with an 85% AND FAIL OUT OF THE PROGRAM!? This just doesnt make sense to me. The teachers are harsh, as they do not show any remorse, or care to your time and dedication to this program. They feed you intricate information during class hours, only to NOT PUT ANY OF IT ON THE TEST! I could not even find any answers to this past cardiac test in the BOOK! If you scored high, it was because you made the "right" educated guess! This semester we have been "awarded" a new teacher for every test, and that teacher isnt even the one making up the exams! So far this semester we have had 5 different teachers in Adults 2! They are completely setting us up for failure and I can imagine the head of the program sitting in her office, enjoying seeing the checks float in, the students float out! I am outraged! I hope that you and everyone else who views this blog DO NOT ATTEND PJC! Spend your money WISER, and actually recieve an Education at Jefferson Davis! Sincerely, Bitter and Aggitated!
