Hello all,
I was just wondering....for those of you who have taken the Kaplan course and passed the NCLEX (), how well did you do on Kaplan questions?? I am scheduled for NCLEX this week but keep scoring around a 62-67 on the kaplan Q trainers and Q Banks??? I'm not feeling really confident right now!
I also test out of the Pearson review book and score around 70......should i post pone??? HELP! I NEED ADVICE!
i just want to reinforce that you kaplan scores are good! and do not allow your scores to affect your confidence. when i first took my nclex-rn i was ranging from high40-low60s and didnt get the 65% on the qt7 and really let it affect me. i started doubting my answers and felt like i didn't know anything. and when i went into the exam i let my nerves get to me because i didn't think i could pass. in the end i failed and realized the percent is there to show you that you are improving and you really shouldn't be so hung up on your score. go in the exam with confidence and take your time and you will succeed! many people have passed with 75 questions with kaplan scores in 50range. it's all about your attitude and confidence! if you have studied and prepared yourself you are ready!
as long as you follow the kaplan plan exactly as it is suppose to be followed you all should do well!!! with this, i mean, have watched ALL the videos, done all your q trainers, and at least 50% of qbank questions, in the order the book lays out for you, then you WILL PASS!!!! i followed it EXACTLY, and i passed at 75 questions...i scored low 60s on my qtrainers, and 55 and above on the qbanks and PASSED my nclex...i agree with the person who said NCLEX was easier than Kaplan for me at least.....! if you have followed kaplans plan i strongly believe you should have no worries!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!
thank you im done now with Q7 i got 56% , i 'm trying not to affect by the scores. do you recommend i do all the Q trainers again, or try to read more content or answer questions from other sources i have nclex 4000,nclex 3000, saunders ,i have only 9 days , i will be having also interview in the immigration this coming monday ,
Just to clarify, I am taking kaplan right now and they recomend only a 60% on all Qbanks, 65% on QT 4&5, and 60% on QT 6&7. It says it right on my paperwork. However, it never mentions what the standard passing score is for the readiness, which bothers me. It is so nice to hear everyone say Kaplans questions were harder than the NCLEX! Great news! Also, I think Kaplan has high standards, so if you are below the 60-65% by several points, you should be ok. I have not taken the NCLEX yet, so don't quote me! I test the 5th as well.
My scores are as follows so far -
Diagnostic - 65%
Qbank (completed 76%) 64%
QT#1 55%
QT#2 63%
QT#3 70%
QT#4 75%
QT#5 67%
I take question trainer 6 tomorrow! I'll let you know how it goes!
I want to say my kaplan instructor told me that to have a 96% chance of passing the nclex, the readiness test should be at a 65%....and i also agree that you should stop STRESSING about the scores and more about getting through as much questions as you can, and reading the rationals!! i wouldn't go back and redo the qtrainers because you've seen those questions, and as long as you read the rationals, you'll be able to answer them correctly....I stuck to KAPLAN as my only source, i felt they had enough questions for me to do!! as far as content, all the content i went over was from the videos..which i made my notes and read from there.....too many other books, would have driven me crazy, so if i were you i would stick to qbank!!!

What was your readiness score? Your diagnostic score? Did you think the NCLEX was similar to Kaplan? Also, I am nervous because my scores are all over the place! My lowest Qbank was 51% & my highest was 80%. I have an average of 64% with 76 percent completed.
When you say to watch all the videos, do you mean the classroom discussion videos? Those are the ones I watch and it took me a week to watch them all. I did not review the content videos, but I have read about 1/2 of the book.
I would recommend you do more questions...and any questions you don't know, look it up. Memorize your lab values! The day before your exam, take the day off and get a massage or go shopping.
thank you i will relax maybe i will cook the day before the exam bec it's my mother in laws bday. i love cooking
