I am scheduled for NCLEX this week but keep scoring around a 62-67 on the kaplan Q trainers and Q Banks??? I'm not feeling really confident right now! Your scores on Kaplan are good...Feel confident, because you are doing good, and confidence will get you through this test. I was getting right around the same scores, but at the beginning my scores were weaker. I was one of the few that came out of the NCLEX thinking that I passed...I think the way Kaplan challenges you to answer questions prepares you for when you don't know something, so therefore when you are taking the NCLEX you can get though the exam without freaking out about not knowing something. I don't know if that really makes that much sense but that is my logic behind Kaplan....It builds endurance for long test, and builds confidence that you can figure questions out....See with Kaplan getting in the 60's is like getting an A on any other test....Good luck with your boards, and walk in there with your head held high that you ARE PREPARED....
I also felt that the exam is not that hard as compared to the review questions that I practiced with...after the exam i also felt that i passed...

I am also taking my test next week and I just finished doing Q trainer 6. I have been getting 55%-58% on Q trainers and my average score on Q bank is 55%. On Q. trainer 6 I passed all the categories except the one on physiological adaptation. I really need an advice. Should I take my test on scheduled date or should I postpone it???? Any suggesstions would be greatly appreciated.!!!

Kaplan says in their book that you should be getting at least 60 on your tests. I got 62 on trainers 6 and 7 and passed NCLEX first time. If you are over 60, you should be Ok. In the 50's is kinda sketchy, but it's up to you. Good luck!

i honestly wouldn't put too much emphasis on the score you get. i think my diagnostic was a low 40. but, with each question trainer i got better and better. i think my last one was high 50's/low 60's. don't worry if you get below the 65%/60% they recommend.

I agree that Kaplan, while very helpful, is also just a bit harder than the actual NCLEX. The Kaplan questions are more complex, while NCLEX seemed to me to have thoughtful, but more straightforward questions. I think if you are in that "60 or above" range, you should feel confident. I hope you have great luck on the test. :wink2:

Your Kaplan scores are pretty good! Try not to let the fact that you aren't nailing exactly what Kaplan wants give you any test anxiety. I had 59% on the last question trainer, and just passed my NCLEX with 88 questions. I almost rescheduled due to those question trainers, but I am so glad I didn't.

Kaplan recommends that you get 65% or higher on the QBank questions to be considered "safely passing". However, there are a lot of graduate nurses who pass their exam getting ranges from 50-70% on their quizzes depending on how their day went.
If you feel like you're ready to take the exam, take it but think positively. Thinking negatively will only create a mentality for disaster. If you feel that you need more time to study i.e. more than a week, then postpone it. Better to save all those registration fee's if you're definitely not ready.
GOOD LUCK!! YOU CAN DO IT
