Kaplan scores on readiness test and online exams

Published

Hi.

I'm taking the NCLEX on July 2nd. I received a passing score on the Kaplan readiness exam (one bar above borderline). On the question trainers I scored from 58-66%. I scored a 61% on question trainer 5 (last question trainer I took).

For those who studied with Kaplan and passed the nclex, what were your scores. Any advice? Should I postpone? Furthermore, how can I pass the readiness exam and not score above the "65%" on the online exams! It's driving me crazy. I was in tears today. Help!

Oh Dear, the same thing happened to me when i was studying for my nclex in Dec 2006 but i never allowed it to demoralize me.Know that you will never know it all and your spirit will keep telling you that you are not prepared.Don't postpone it.Study,do your best and leave the rest to God.

As they told us in Kaplan, you'll never see exactly the questions u saw in nclex.Just answer the questions, read the rationales,by so doing, you are maximizing your knowledge and no matter the way the frame the question, you can answer it.Good luck!:monkeydance:

Like the previous poster said, don't let it demoralize you. Just make sure you review the rationales for all of the questions whether you got them wrong or not. It will help put you into NCLEX mode. On test #7, I scored a 63% and wondered if I was ready. I figured that I would never feel ready and that I was as ready as I was going to ever be. I took the NCLEX and passed with 75 questions.

Kaplan's Q-trainer questions and the Q-bank's Sample NCLEX tests were strikingly similar to how my exam looked like. I think 7 questions on the exam were verbatim or very similar to what I've seen with Kaplan.

So don't fret! Keep your cool and go in with a well rested mind. Getting over your nerves will be half the battle. Good luck!

Hey Kasha,

I don't think you have anything to worry about. I posted something about this on Saturday. Anyway I took the NCLEX last Thursday, got 75 questions and PASSED. My Kaplan scores were not great, at all! My highest score was a 62% on QT #7. I then used the q-bank for the areas I was scoring low in, and it totally helped.

Don't reschedule, remember you are never going to get a "great" grade on the NCLEX. It sounds to me like your scores are were they need to be, just do practice questions in between your next two question trainers. You'll be fine!!

Good luck.
