Insurance Question. Please Help!!!
hi. i'm a new nurse :0). my question is regarding malpractice coverage. 1. i'm planning on purchasing insurance from nso, but will they keep my information private? i've heard people say that if you have your own policy you're more likely to be named in a suit. is this true? how could a lawyer even know i have my own coverage? what is your advice regarding this? is there a company that keeps your info private? how can i keep my info private? i certainly don't want to be someone's meal ticket. 2. the plan i'm thinking of going with is nso's 1,000,000/6,000,000 aggregate. is this a good plan? thanks! kasha

anxiety may be on red alert! help from kaplan users :)
Dont worry! You're ready;)! I passed with 75 questions. This is what I did to prepare. I took Kaplan in class and did the online Q trianer and Qbank. My Qbank avg was 65% (I had a few that were well below the Kaplan "65% rule"...so take that Kaplan:lol2:). I also created Q bank exams that consisted of my weak areas. On question trainer 6 I scored a 66%. The day before my exam I took Q trainer 7 and my computer locked up at Q 230 and I said forget this I'm going to bed (So I have no idea how I did). Furthermore, I didn't go in depth with the kaplan book, (I've never been one to learn with text books). I'm not bragging but this is what I wished had been posted when I was preparing and reading though these posts. I was so nervous 2 days before my boards that I had my family going crazy! Good luck! Relax! P.S Remember priority and teaching!

need help with priority questions
Well I took Kaplan and the way they said to answer these questions is to look at it as if you could do only one thing and go home, what would it be. So ask yourself, "what would happen if I didn't do this?", or, "If I chose to hang Iv fluids and not give pain meds what would happen?" Always go with what could make the pt unstable (fluid balance). Also Kaplan taught us to use maslows hierarchy, meaning that...always pick physical over psy issues...and pain is considered a psy issue and doesn't take priority over phys. (I know they drill pain into us in school). Good luck :0)

Do you think it is too late to go into nursing?
Apply to nursing school! I just graduated from the University of Maryland, and a good amount of my classmates where in their 30's-40's. I even had a classmate who was 63! Several other classmates had 3-4 children. Now just ask yourself if you have enough support from home, because it will be tough. I wish you the best. By the wa, it gets easier after the 1st year of hell.

Kaplan scores on readiness test and online exams
Hi. I'm taking the NCLEX on July 2nd. I received a passing score on the Kaplan readiness exam (one bar above borderline). On the question trainers I scored from 58-66%. I scored a 61% on question trainer 5 (last question trainer I took). For those who studied with Kaplan and passed the nclex, what were your scores. Any advice? Should I postpone? Furthermore, how can I pass the readiness exam and not score above the "65%" on the online exams! It's driving me crazy. I was in tears today. Help!
