Kaplan 180 Question Practice Exam

Published

I took this for the first time today, my NCLEX is in about a week. I finished it in about 1:45 (hour:minutes). I scored a 70.

I am wondering if this is acceptable. I have heard others speak of 50's-60's passing. Should I feel good about this score?

Thanks,

Nathan

selby - Congrats!! And thanks! I had 99% on ATI, too. I also have already completed Suzanne's first tip. I haven't done the comprehensive test in the Saunders book yet, I just discovered it. For both Kaplan and Saunders, I'm using the old edition.

I don't know what the difference is between the old and new editions. I felt pretty well prepared but obviously nervous. The NCLEX is such a different sort of test!

theresa1166-ATI is a program that my school had for us that was meant to prepare us for NCLEX through the whole program. We got books (that I never used, they weren't too helpful) and had to take a computerized exam for each class at the end of the semester. At the end of the program we needed to take a comprehensive test that predicted our ability to pass NCLEX. so that's, ATI.

Anyone else have comments about scores from the Kaplan blue book (not the Q Trainers)? I got a 69 on the 180 question test on the CD, and a 66 on the one in the book. I'm worried that it's not good enough. Not sure what to think because most people here are talking about the Q Trainers when they mention scores. Is this test comparable to that? In the book it says >70% is good understanding, 60-69% you have areas that need further review and improve your CT skills. I got an 85 on the ATI comprehensive which gave me a lot of confidence that I was ready, but now I'm not sure.

I also would like to know what is a good score on the CD that came with the Kaplan blue book. I scored a 71% the first time I took the 180 question test on the CD rom.

Thanks for the ATI clarification. Our school has always done some sort of pretest to the NCLEX but dropped it for some reason this year. Maybe because there were complaints on the $50 charge but I would have paid it to see where I stood.

I guess I will just keep plugging away at my Saunders cd.

I am also wondering about the blue kaplan book and cd that I bought at barnes and noble. I didn't have the money for the course.

If anyone has seen both editions, are the tests pretty much the same? I'm looking for more questions.
