Hey all
So even though I'm enrolled in Virtual ATI (it sucks) I'm thinking about taking the plunge and paying the $300 for Kaplan Qbank. I figure that if I were to fail my boards the first time, it would cost me way more than $300 in lost wages and paying to take the test again. So I want to be SURE I'm ready. My question is, how long does it take to complete all of the questions provided? I know it will be different for each person but just want to get a feeling for how long it will take because I plan to schedule my NCLEX-RN immediately after completing the qbanks. Thanks in advance! I've found this website and all of you at be SO very helpful! :)

I don't think the qbank cost that much , I bought it for on & it was 3 payments of 43 dollars
&& the PN one had maybe 1200 questions . So depends on you. But ours only let us do up to 50 at a time . && I believe they had like 2 or 3 practice test . Didn't get to them , ran outta time . I'm actually going to purchase again if when I'm finished all my books & ati & still not doing on questions

I did ATI and Kaplan, do Kaplan. Its worth it and if you can swing the live class I really liked it. I'm very "meh" on ATI. I think their practices questions are much easier than Kaplans, and its especially annoying how much easier the practice are vs the proctored.

they give you a number of schedules based on how long you wait to take the exam, like if you wait 3 weeks I think you have to do one hundred something a day. I did the 5wk plan, so I do 50-75 questions a day.

If you can swing it, spend a little extra and do the Kaplan class (even the online version). The tips and tricks for approaching the NCLEX were invaluable, IMO. Is there a Kaplan seminar coming up in your area? If so, they sometimes do a discounted rate if you sign up there (mine was $379 instead of $499 that way). Plus, they throw in the med guide (though I only had 2-3 med questions, including one calc). I didn't make it far through that, and focused, rather, on the Kaplan Content Review Guide (free download on Amazon, or you can purchase it there for $38, which is what I did, as I prefer hard copies of books).
The Q Bank would be helpful, but I think doing the class as well is worth the added expense.
Thanks for the replies. I am going to try to do the whole Kaplan shabang if I can. Once I finish ATI, I'll dig a little deeper into Kaplan and see which plan would be best for me and my budget. I'm trying to stay positive and hope to kick the NCLEX in the butt!
Like the Kaplan FB page. They have coupon codes (there was one yesterday apparently) for different services, which might be helpful. :)
You've got this!!!
Thanks for the heads up RunBabyRN!
