Hello all,
I am currently studying for the NCLEX examination and have studied using Hurst, UWorld, and Kaplan. I am going through the Kaplan Q- Trainers at the moment and have so far completed 1-5. I have progressively scored the same score on every single Q Trainer test (except for 3, and I scored lower than I expected but I think I was just tired and having a bad day lol) and I just wanted to know/ inquire if anyone else out there has encountered the same thing? All of my scores have been 57.3%. On Uworld, my overall rank is at 57% as well which apparently translates to 68th rank overall? I don't know if I should interpret any of these scores as a bad thing or a good thing and I am getting really antsy because I take my test in about 12 days! All I know is that I seem to be stuck at these 57's? I am now wondering if I need to push my test or if I'm just paying too much attention to the scores? I heard that Kaplans "goal scores" are much higher than what is needed to actually pass the exam. Is there any truth to that? Please help. Any advice would be great!
Thank you!

The most important Trainers you'll take are 6 and 7 because they are mostly based on Application and Analysis questions...the ones you'll see on the NCLEX. Anything above 60% is considered good according to Kaplan. The next test that is important is the "Readiness Test", which the goal is also to aim for above 60%.
I wouldn't focus too much on the scores. The most important thing is to read the rationales of EVERY single question (correct and incorrect) so that you have better understanding of the concept.
Remember, the NCLEX doesn't test you on content, it tests your ability to use critical thinking and practice as a safe and effective entry level nurse.

I will tell you what my live Kaplan instructor told me. Aim for 60-65% for best results on the real NCLEX. Use your QBANKS too.
Thank you for the feedback SkyDrift! I am going to be taking 6 and 7 within the week. I know I need to review what I did wrong in Trainer 5 still. I am trying not to focus too much on the scores, but I guess my anxiety and antsy feelings are really getting to me. I hope I am able to answer accordingly come test day! I have been studying really hard the past 3 months. Can't wait for this part to be over. *cross fingers*
Thanks for the feeback Larry2016. Did your instructor happen to tell you what 60%-65% would be for the chances of passing the real test? I saw that there was a table floating on here on allnurses that gives you numbers on the probability of passing the real test based on what you scored for the readiness test. Would you happen to know how accurate this is?
