Hi guys! I'm applying for NAU Yuma's nursing program and the Kaplan Nursing Entrance Exam is used for this school. I just took the Kaplan test yesterday and I did not do very well on the science and writing portions. Since I did not reach the minimum score for science (65%), I have to apply again for the next cycle.
Overall score: 79%
Reading: 91&
Math: 89%
Writing: 71%
Science: 60%
I want to list some topics that I remember from the test to help out future students, especially since there's not a lot of info out there. First of all, I thought only anatomy and physiology would be on the science portion, but it was not the only field of science.
Reading:
Math:
Writing:
Science:
I am very disappointed in the lack of clarity of what was going to be on this test, especially with the science portion. I think Kaplan needs to be more transparent about which fields of science will be on the test.

If there are other topics that I haven't included, please let me know! Thanks guys and good luck!
Thanks for responding! I have the smart edition as well. That and Youtube and has me a lot with the math. I feel caught up with math and science. Now I’m struggling with the reading and writing. Hopefully in a couple of weeks I will feel a lot better. Any tips for those sections? Thanks again for your help!!

The Quizlets and doing practice tests on Smart Academy’s website will really help a lot. Those sections were hard for me as well since I’m not good with sentence structure or determining the main idea of a passage (I’m autistic).
Hello anyone that’s taken the NAU Kaplan after March. Can anyone please help me with what to study for the science???? I was accepted into the program for Spring 2019. Unfortunately had to withdraw (mom got very sick) and now that things are back to normal I took the Kaplan this past March, and to my surprise the test has a whole different look whole different questions especially the science!! Is no longer Physiology it was all basic science…which I didn’t remember much LOL so I did very poor on the test ? So please please anyone that can tell me “study this exactly to be more familiar with ….” All I see on quizlet is pretty much questions with the old Kaplan which are pretty much useless. I test in less than two weeks!

Good luck!
could I email you at [email protected]? I have a question.

Did you already take your Kaplan?

I reviewed basic math on Youtube and bought the practice test pack on Smart Edition Academy. Both really helped me out as I’m one of those people who if I don’t use certain types of math, I forget how and have to refresh myself. Good luck!
