54% on Kaplan NCLEX readiness test

Published

I just took the Kaplan Readiness Test and scored a 54%. I am supposed to be taking the real exam one week from today but now I'm not sure if I should postpone the date. I heard you need to score a 60% to have a chance of passing. I've done about 2000 practice questions, mostly on Uworld and I feel like I've learned so much and yet now I am thinking it's still not enough. What are your thoughts/past experiences? Is 54% too low to consider sitting in on the test next week? On Uworld I score in the 50's to low 60s.

hi! I was wondering how you ended up doing on the nclex, as I am doing Kaplan as well and plan on taking the readiness test next week as in two weeks I have my test scheduled. I haven't been scoring incredibly well on Kaplan (low-high 50s usually) and was wondering if I get a low score on the readiness if I should move it. Thank you for sharing your experience!

Kaplan questions IMO are harder than NCLEX questions, therefore gettings scores in the 50's and 60's is ok (this was me and I passed in 75 questions). I can't speak for everyone but I felt prepared going into the NCLEX after having done Kaplan and felt confident that I passed when I walked out. The Kaplan tree helps but you also need to be confident in your test-taking ability. I also did about 75 questions in Kaplan/day. I didn't even finish all the questions they had. Good luck!
