Hello everyone! I just registered with this website and need some type of guidance. I need to take the Kaplan Nursing Entrance Exam and was wondering.. What book should I study from? What test taking strategies will help? Was it difficult? I simply need feedback, I've been out of school for 2 years now and need to refresh in all subjects. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.:)

I took my Kaplan exam last Friday and I passed it, but I have an opportunity to take it again to get a higher score. The Kaplan entrance book is not worth buying. If you can get it used from amazon that'll be okay. What I did for the science portion was I used my pathophysiology book. The science portion is all about physiology. Know all of your systems and how they work etc. I got some questions where it gave me scenarios about a certain patient and parasympathetic systems. The math has fractions, ratios, and dosing questions. I had like 7 of those which I didn't study for.
The writing section was the hardest for me. It was my worst score. You read a passage and have to decipher which sentence can be taken out, subject verb agreement etc. one thing that I would recommend is to take a break in between. I didn't do this but I will make sure to do so when I retest. Also wear some ear plugs. Sounds can be distracting. I retake my exam august 8th. If you have any other questions, feel free to message me! I too was trying to get more info about it before I took it but there's not that much out there. Good luck!

With Kaplan each school, gets a unique test with the content the school asks for, so no two schools have the same test. I kinda felt like there was nothing to study for (you either know it or your don't kinda information); however, I do not do well on test when I do not know the syntax of the questions or the type of questions, so I purchased the Kaplan Nursing School Entrance Exam book from Amazon, if for nothing else than my peace of mind.
Good luck!
Thank you so much! When are you taking your exam? How do you feel about it?
