Working while in NP school
How are you liking Dukes program? Which NP program are you in? I am wanting to apply to their women's NP program in hopes to start in the fall of 2018. I work nights and hope I can remain full time.

Update: no longer questioning my career choice
Let me tell you how amazing it is to hear that you have gotten over the hump and are feeling more confident. I am a new nurse, recently started on November 4th working nights on an oncology unit and my last shift, which was last night was tough. Nursing is definitely hard, harder than you realized it would be in nursing school. It's definitely fraustrating to miss something and have someone else catch it. I'm still fresh on the unit and in starting my shifts, but I am very hard on myself. The one thing that comes to mind is that I have to keep going back and learning only to hope that it will get better. Seeing your post, I know it will. Thank you for making me realize that! I hope I will soon be where you are currently! Please, keep us updated in your journey!

First job
I recently graduated in August, took and passed my boards on October 1st. I landed my first nursing job and it happens to be my dream job. I start orientation on Monday. I too am a little nervous, but more excited. I think this is a good thing and is natural. We all want to do a good job. And we will. Don't let anyone intimidate you or tell you otherwise. My advice is to go in with confidence. Everything will come with time. Ask a lot of questions and be yourself. It's a shame your professor told you that you shouldn't be a nurse. He did the opposite of what nursing instructors should do. Take it with a grain of salt and hold your head up high. I wish you the best of luck. Just know you're not alone. ☺ï¸

Ok, now I'm getting worried...
I am very sorry that you did not pass. I know you've been hearing this a lot, but please do not give up. It seems like you are comprehending and understanding the material looking at your scores. Now, how are you while you are taking the exams? How do you feel? I think 50% of it is mental and one needs to be positive and confident and go in there thinking and believing that they are going to pass. Seeing as this was your third time taking it, maybe you were feeling defeated before even going in to take the exam. Are you struggling with SATA questions? OB? Mental health? I think it's always best to take a break and regroup for a while, then jump back in. This does and will not define you as a nurse and the care you will give to your future patients. Just know that you will soon get there. Hold your head up high. If this is what you want, I hope you will continue forth and try again. If I can help in anyway, please let me know. Best of luck Since you've tried Kaplan and uworld, have you tried hurst? NCLEX mastery app? Saunders book for content?

Kaplan Scores: Am I ready?
I believe that that you passed! I too was skeptical and researched constantly about the accuracy, but it worked for me! I'm sure it will work for you! Congrats, RN!

Kaplan Scores: Am I ready?
Im sure you did great! I did the PVT trick a few hours after and 24 hours later and got the good pop up. Checked my states BON this morning and my license is up! I'm officially a nurse! Sending you good vibes!!

Ok, now I'm getting worried...
I tested this past Saturday, October 1st. I studied for a month doing 100 questions a day. As the days got closer, I found myself getting tired (scores decreased). I wasn't able to focus. I feel that perhaps you have reached your capacity and should take these next two days off, if you can. It definitely gets tiring when you study everyday, you have to give your brain a break! Best of luck on Wednesday! You'll do great!

Kaplan Scores: Am I ready?
We won't know everything. I will let you know how it goes. I am testing in the afternoon. I figure that would be better so I can go have a nice lunch before. I too went through an accelerated program. I am hoping I don't have too much SATA questions. I'm always one too short or one too much on those questions.

Kaplan Scores: Am I ready?
Is Kaplan the only resource you used? Kaplan came with my tuition for the school I attended, but all I've been using is uworld and it has been very helpful! I did take the Kaplan readiness exam and received a 64%. I haven't really touched much question trainers on Kaplan. I take my exam on Saturday. I'm pretty sure you will be okay. I too am trying to figure out what qualifies as "good" scores walking into the NCLEX, but I feel like majority of it is how you're feeling going into it. Know that you're not alone! Try to remain positive and confident! We will be okay!

NCLEX Tuesday... Any last advice?
Looks like you passed! Must feel nice to be done! I take my NCLEX this Saturday! I've just been doing uworld. I took the Kaplan readiness exam and got a 64%. What was your overall impression of the exam?
-
UWorld wins!
Congratulations! I've been hearing that uworld is much tougher than the NCLEX. I have 200 questions left over and my overall performance score is 53%. I also took the Kaplan readiness test and got a 64%. I am trying to finish all my questions because my memerbship ends tomorrow! I am hoping I pass on the first try! I am excited to take it, but I am just hoping I don't blank out. It's all about confidence, right?

UWorld wins!
Congratulations!! Did you find that the questions on uworld were more difficult than the NCLEX? (SATA, prioritization, delegation). What was your overall performance score? I take my boards very soon, and all I am using is uworld. I have about 400 questions left over.

Nclex RN tomorrow stressed!!
Congratulations! I bet it feels amazing to officially be done and have it behind you. I'm taking mine soon. All I'm doing is uworld-100 questions a day and writing down all rationales. I hope I too can say that I passed on the first try!

uworld percentages?
I am using uworld and I am finding it EXTREMELY helpful! I'm learning new information everyday! Some things that I didn't learn in nursing school! Now, I am doing 100 questions per day and am writing out all rationales (I bought a cheap notebook). I am approaching my date and I feel relaxed and confident. I believe half of it is all mental! You need to have a good attitude and have faith that you will pass!
