Kaplan course?

Hi everyone! I would like to know if the Kaplan course really helped you to pass your test? Does the Kaplan strategy really work? Did you do the classroom or the full online course?

I'm debating if its worth paying that much money.

Thank you.

I presume you are asking about courses for passing the NCLEX?

I never took this course, but passed the NCLEX. However, if I had the money to take this course, I would have without a doubt.

the course that cost $499. i also hear that the kaplan tree can confuse people.

i also have the kaplan strategies to pass the RN exam (thin blue book). does that work for anyone?

Moved to the NCLEX forum

we have several threads discussing Kaplan for RN

I did the Kaplan Q Bank course online ($150) but did not use the book or the decision tree thing. The only thing I did was take practice tests online. I took my NCLEX-PN today, and I'm about 99% sure I passed. I will let you know for sure on Wednesday when I find out. However, I would definitely attribute my positivity about it to Kaplan. Their ?s were actually quite a bit harder than the NCLEX and their testing format was very similar, so I wasn't surprised or very intimidated while sitting for the exam. Kaplan also analyzes your competence so you know what areas you're weak in and what one's your better in, so you know where to devote your studies to. I used other books as well, but for the most part Kaplan. If you can afford it, by ALL MEANS, use it. I definitely don't regret it. Hope I helped!

I did not take the kaplan course; but all my friends took it. We all passed the NCLEX. All I did was the Saunders Q&A (I found the comprehensive book too overwhelming for me) and questions from the kaplan review book.

i took kaplan and it helped me pass

I took the Kaplan 2X and failed 2X. I think there are useful strategies there and if you already have good knowledge it can certainly work. But for me it didn't work. Although the Kaplan tree is interesting it does not work at all for a lot of the questions you'll see and sometimes it can be misleading as I found out in some cases. Again I think it is one more piece of the puzzle but it works for most people. (at least this is what their advertising says)
