hey i just moved to california from connecticut. i met with kaplan college about their lvn program and i just ned some feedback about your experience as a student or grad. i really need this help thanks:up:
The kaplan college in sacramento staff are really nice. This school is 26k....... Is anyone looking to start in october at the sacramento campus?
I'am a military spouse so i don't have the "time" to sit on a wailist. Kaplan college is very generous to military and thier spouses'....Having to move alot being able to get into nursing school in a reasonable amount of time is exactly what i need. Some people don't have the time to wait. i understand that it is alot of money but theres is student loans, grants, and scholarships available especially to nursing students. It doesn't matter what school we go to to become nurses.
Ashleigh, wow..I wonder why your LPN is so much cheaper! At the Vista campus it's 31k..did you get a special price for being a military spouse? I too am a military spouse so thank you for all the information of miltiary spouse scholorships. I have not taken HESI yet..nervous...I have the study guide so I've been looking at it. Keep in touch..by the way what Navy base are you guys stationed at up there?
I don't know why its so much cheaper. Just my luck they will increase the tuition..lol. You're welcome for the scholarship info. Have you been able to find any other scholarships or grants? no I didn't get a special discount cause of the military thing, but on there website its says spouses can get 10% off per unit i think. I asked my "advisor" about it and she said she will look into it so fingers crossed. I got and 84% on the hesi exam they are only interviewing 80% and up i was told. It's not that hard actually i struggled a bit with the math but i still got a good score. We ar stationed at Travis AFB, my husband is in the Air Force. Oh and i also heard about some grant for two thousand dollars for military dependents... I forgot the name of it,let me look for it and i will give you the info. When is your test?
Just got back from a Dr appt for my daughter at Camp Pendleton. There was an LVN there that went to Kaplan, well it was Meric she went like 5 years ago. She was telling me she doesn't recommend Kaplan at all. She was saying I'd have ahrd t ime working in any other state? Now I'm confused. I know it'll be hard to find an RN program in another state, but I thought at Kaplan you take the same LVN as any other state so your an LVN, or LPN for that matter. I am going to have to really look into it now because we plan on moving in 2 years (military move again) and I'd want to work.
I wouldn't believe her too much only because Kaplan colleges are all over the U.S. As long as you pass the state board it should be fine right? I have also seen it time and time and again that the hiring director only cares that you are a warm bodied human with the license. You'd always be able to get a job @ the hospital on base, given that there are openings. My Np went to Meric(kaplan) in FL For her LVN and now... well now she is an NP. Geez now im knida concernd..lol
Well, I just returned from the first orientation session at Kaplan in Stockton. The entrance procedure is lengthy and cumbersome. They have their reputation at stake (% who pass NCLEX-PN) and as such, put everyone through the process to insure only qualified candidates make the cut. They will accept 30 plus 3 alternates for the Nov. class.
They do not appear to be a substandard school.
hey plaza!! so how much is it going to be in total? I was told at first it was 26k then today i found out that they will have the exact amount soon. lol. you aid 27k right? so this orientation..... you've been excepted already? if so tell me the scoop!! lol. Like grants and things. Im trying to get as many grants possible!!!
