Kaplan college in San Diego RN program

Published

Hi, I will be starting the RN program with Kaplan as soon as we relocate. My husband's in the Military so the wait lists at other colleges turned me away from them.

Do any of you go to Kaplan? If so, how did it work out for the student loans and stuff , I am confused. It seems as if tuition is around 45000 for the couple years of the program. I am eligible for the pell grant and the military grant of 3000 per year. But would the loans be able to cover everything else since it's a vocational school more than a traditional college? Thanks!

maybe PM me your email...this site is so confusing and I can't read your whole message.

Sorry the late reply, this site is a little confusing to me still!

HI mmeadows75,

Are you addressing me or someone else?

Hi All,

I wanna apply to Kaplan's ADN program but had a few questions before I give my info. to the reps. :). When is their next start date? I'll have a Bachelor's degree in Science from a nationally accredited university. What pre-reqs does Kaplan require which the students talk about that cuts their program length and how much does it cut it? My main goal is to become a Nurse Practitioner....so, with an ADN from Kaplan and Bachelor's in Bio-Medical science from an accredited state school...can I transfer to a RN-MSN(NP) program....is there any that will accept it? Which accreditation does Kaplan hold currently? I'm also considering National university's second degree BSN but I want to keep my options open as my previous B.S overall GPA is only going to be 3.0 :(. I'll really appreciate any info you guys might have. Thanks a lot!

Hi,

I believe that their next start date is in April, but don't quote me. The prereq's are English, Math (college algebra), Psychology, Sociology, Anatomy and Physiology I, Anatomy and Physiology II, Microbiology, and Speech.

I have a friend who is a Nurse Practitioner that started at Kaplan when it was still called Maric. After finishing at Maric, she went on to receive her BSN at University of Phoenix. Upon completion, she applied and finished at USD to become a Nurse Practioner.

Good luck to you.
