Congratulations on your acceptance!

When did you find out you were accepted into the program?

Are you taking a full load or do you have many transfer credits?

If you have questions, feel free to PM me. I'll do my best to answer what I can:-)

Hey,

Congratulations on your acceptance, I was accepted to the January 2014 cohort as well. My name is Roxy and I am excited but feeling a bit overwhelmed. Are you transferring in any credits or are you completing everything with Kaplan? Looking forward to chatting and working with you!

Roxy- so glad you found the thread:-)

I hope soon you will see many others in your cohort chiming in!

Off to answer your other post.

Hi NurseMorse, may I ask what score did you get for the KTP exam? thanks! =)

Good question! It's been a while, but I remember stressing about trying to reach scores in the 90's. With that, I think I scored low 90's on the math and I think an 80 something on the English.

Have you taken your KTP?

i did but my score was low and they want me to retake it but i have no time anymore since the deadline is on Mon. :-(

Don't give up hope! If you are able to wait one semester, take some time to study, practice and take it again before the next cohort.

Quick question- I thought I remember seeing you on a Western Governors thread. Didn't you get into the prelicensure program for so cal? Or maybe you were on a thread when I was asking about it:-)

hi NurseMorse

i was a former WGU student but driving 2hrs or more most times took a toll in my health....love the program though but too far from me...now i'm trying to get back here in SD area and just endure the waiting game again :-) thanks for your encouragement i really appreciate it. Good luck! :-)

Hi EVLGNUS!

Can you tell me what it was like taking classes at WGU? Im contemplating whether I should apply or not. Please advise. Thanks!

hi itsinmy

since most didactics are online (tuition includes online access to books) they give us tons of workload, i had classmates which are LVN's and the program is 2 1/2 yrs now (it was only 2 yrs before) tuition is cheap i think less than 25k? you get a BSN at the end...They also have a high NCLEX passing rate...labs are done north side (L.A. part) and we had our clinicals at Huntington Memorial Hospital (great clinical instructors and RN coaches) other cohort goes to Cedars Sinai and some at Fountain Valley (all up north)..there were only 10 of us in our cohort so lots of hands-on practice during labs (max. 2 students per sim man)..simulation exams for each student per course were nerve wrecking but until now, i remember the process of each nursing skill LoL...they made us order lab kits (i.v. bags, gloves, needles, etc.) so we can practice at home. :-)

When did you turn in your application? I just took my KTP and I got a 93% in Math and a 95% in Reading. I already have a bachelors degree. I am just waiting to hear if I got in now. Of course I'm curious to see how everyone else did on their exams. I didn't do that great on my SLE...I got a 26.
