Kaiser Northern California New Grad Fall 2021

Nurses Residency

Published

Hi everyone! Just wanted to make a thread where we could help each other out and post updates about applications or ask questions! Good luck to everyone!

Specializes in Nursing.

Got the snapshot email too!

snapshot email here too.

Specializes in Hospice. Worked ER, Med-Surg, ICU & ALF-Dementia.

I have been applying at Kaiser for so many years until I finally decided to quit. What I learned from friends and relatives working there is basically, they hire from within or that dreaded "its who you know, not what you know". I've seen that "application submitted" multiple times before. I never really wanted to be in debt with anyone for a job so I never asked my friends and relatives even when they offer to recommend me.

But I hope that you guys have better luck than I did.

Good luck to all who got a response. I don’t think being an extern matters in the application process because I am a nurse extern and haven’t received a change in status or the snapshot. Good thing I didn’t put all of my eggs in one basket, but still a little discouraging.

For those of you who were invited further in the interview process and received the career snapshot email, did you all complete an EKG course?

Yes! I included it in one of my attachments during the initial application, but it was also on my resume. My classmate that was routed as well didn't attach the certificate but listed it on her resume.

Anyone have any idea how much time between being notified of an interview and the actual interview?  I've completed my screening and am wondering if I should start on the presentation in case I get an interview.  Any of you guys start it yet...feels daunting.  Thanks!

Hey. I believe they are gonna have a few extra screenings after the snapshot. At least thats what they said in the webinar. And then if you make it through all of the screenings. 180-200 ppl will be asked to interview. And for the presentation they will send you prompts and a grading rubric if you are selected to make a presentation and interview. I don't know if making it ahead of time will help.

Thanks!  I wrote down that they said interviews would be the week of 8/23...I'm going to assume that's no longer the case since there are a couple of rounds of screening.

Hey, yah they changed it. It's tentatively that interviews will be 8/30 and offers 9/7 and the start date is still October 11th

Hi All,

KP sent out an update email today (8/19) at 4:25pm

Specializes in Nursing.

They chose 474 people to complete the snapshot and will take less than half to the virtual interview process. Keep in mind there are 100 spots…nerve wracking!
