Kaiser NorCal Nurse Residency Fall 2023 Cohort 6

Updated:   Published

Hello everyone! I just wanted to create this for all those interested in the Kaiser Nurse Residency for new grads that has a start date of 9/11/2023. Also thought I would post the timeline below to help with any questions about when the next steps are taking place (per their webinar).

5/31-6/7: Application open

6/8-6/11: Candidate Survey (Snapshot)

6/20-6/30: Group Interviews

7/12: Hiring Decisions

7/17-7/26: HR Offer Days

7/31-9/8: HR Checks

9/11: Program Start

Thank you for starting this thread. I too have applied to Kaiser. Are all of you internal applicants or did you have rotations at Kaiser? I'm feeling a bit discouraged since everyone I know who got hired there had a rotation there..

I only had 6 days of clinical there I'm not sure how much that's going to help tho

Hi! Does everyone applying already have a CA license? I want to apply because I'm graduating my program in August, but I see that the application requires a national provider number?

I believe you just have to have your license 30 days prior to your start date, which would be around Aug 11th.  You may have a tough time getting a test date by then if you are graduating in August though?  They will have another cohort in the Spring if the timing is t quite right this cohort?

I just got my license last week.

you don't need an NPI to apply - I think it's optional?

you don't need to be licensed to apply- but have to be licensed by the Hire date

Hello Everyone,

Do y'all have the EKG Certificate?

Yes I got mine for this application. It's not cheap but I decided to go for it. You can complete it in around 2 hours! Honestly it was all review as I didn't learn anything I didn't learn in nursing school.
