Hello Everyone! I recently got hired into Cohort 8 and projected to start in March. The process is quite simply, from the comments I read from this thread, I see that you guys are in the career snapshot section.

Make sure you submitted your Letter of Rec, BLS, ACLS, RN License (if you have it) Resume, and Cover Letter (Highly Recommended) onto the job application.

They value you having have done clinical rotations /externships/capstone at their facilities. As for the EKG certification, you don't need to have it to apply to KP, but you do need to have it before your start date if you get hired.

In terms of choosing locations, for NorCal for the most part. I would suggest choosing a group of hospitals instead of just a single one to improve your chances of landing an interview.

I did not submit a nursing portfolio, because I don't know how to even do a nursing portfolio but you can Google search how to combine one together.

Let me know if you guys have any more questions! good luck in landing an interview!

Thanks so much for sharing! Any tips on what they look for in interviews in preparation ?

Following what they ask on the rubric is helpful, as long as you include the things on your presentation on what they want you to tell you, you should be golden. Also make sure don't put lots of words on your powerpoint slides, more emphasis on images rather than lots of words. You'll get more info on how to prep for KP interviews in the form of an email if you get an invite for interviews ? Hope this helps!

Super helpful!! Would you happen to know if they send out interview invites pretty early after the career snapshots deadline? Thanks in advance!

Hey Ramsey,

Thanks for all the informative information.  This is great.  I do have a question about bidding after the 6 months to a specialty clinic such as the ED, I seen they had like ICU, Peds, Etc - but don't see the ED.  Another poster gave valuable information regarding being a part of TPMG, so my questions to you are:

  • Is it possible to transfer over to the ED at that year point? with only med surg or tele experience? "The ED does require 1 year exp"
  • If after one gets into this program, can that person pick up a per diem position elsewhere?  Technically, it would be experience after the fact?

Thank you for all the help!

Anyone receive another email today? Is that just a reminder for snapshot?

From what I remember, Kaiser will send out rejection and acceptance letters on the day specified on the KP New Grad RN website when the deadline has passed.

Hi Tylenol,

Thank you for your questions and as much as I wish I knew the answers. I do not.

But I would recommend emailing Kaiser Residency Program at [email protected] about your question on ED transferring (I'm not sure if they have ED at month 7 at every kaiser location) and the per diem question.

Sorry!

Thank you!  I have sent them over an email.

I emailed them yesterday and they responded saying that they didn't receive any application from me despite receiving an email on 1/28 confirming my application was received. They advised that I apply to the next cohort which is disheartening. I hope everyone gets an offer and wish you all the best.
