Hi guys! Just wanted to make this for those who are applying to Cohort 9 for Kaiser New Grad Residency!

Hello Everyone! I recently got hired into Cohort 8 and projected to start in March. The process is quite simply, from the comments I read from this thread, I see that you guys are in the career snapshot section.
Make sure you submitted your Letter of Rec, BLS, ACLS, RN License (if you have it) Resume, and Cover Letter (Highly Recommended) onto the job application.
They value you having have done clinical rotations /externships/capstone at their facilities. As for the EKG certification, you don't need to have it to apply to KP, but you do need to have it before your start date if you get hired.
In terms of choosing locations, for NorCal for the most part. I would suggest choosing a group of hospitals instead of just a single one to improve your chances of landing an interview.
I did not submit a nursing portfolio, because I don't know how to even do a nursing portfolio but you can Google search how to combine one together.
Let me know if you guys have any more questions! good luck in landing an interview!

Thank you so much for taking the time to explain all of this! I forgot to submit my reference letter during the initial application. Is there a way to get it to them after? I thought I'd have a chance to do it during the career snapshot but I guess you don't!

are you able to still access the original job application? I think you can still insert your letter of reference on the job posting prior to you getting an interview ?

Thanks for all your tips. What exactly should I put in this cover letter? I haven't apply anything before and just passed my NCLEX yesterday trying to get into this cohort.

For the cover letter, I'll give you a format so that you can follow based on what I wrote
1. Self-introduction, school you graduated from, and how you're excited to begin your nursing career at Kaiser as a Staff I at their Med/Surg and Telemetry units
2. Why you are interested in med surg or what peaked your interest. Mention a memorable patient you had during any of your medical surgical clinical rotations or even capstone and how that made you the nurse that you aspire to be today. What skills/traits you can bring to Kaiser?
3. Mention Kaiser's mission and values, it's on the website. How you align with their mission and values
4. Mention how many med surg hours you've done and why you're a good fit for this program.
5. End it with "Thank you with their time and consideration" Talk about importance of advocacy for patients and being a healing presence"
Good luck to everyone in this thread and hope many of you guys secure an interview!

Check your spam folder if you haven't received your snapshot. You shpuld have gotten it by now. As for the cover letter, I would write one and not risk it...
