Never heard of an LPN making that amount in the clinic setting. I have worked in the clinical setting since 1994 and the only ones who make that amount of money are the RN's who are considered a specialty nurse or those who work in the GI lab. "But, I guess anything is possible".
Of course if there are any LPN's out there who make that amount in the clinical setting, feel free to correct me!
Wishing you Happy Holidays!
I don't live in your area so I don't know what the pay scale is there. I work as an LPN in NJ and I make over $25 as my base rate. I get shift diffs too. Now, I expect to make that in LTC/agency. If I were to work in a clinic/drs office, I would expect to make about $17.
My sister is an LPN in Tampa and she makes $21 as a per diem nurse at a LTC/rehab. When she first moved to Tampa(3yrs ago) she got a job working for a company that paid her $30/hr to go to area hospitals and demonstrate the use of their product(needleless system). They also reimbursed her for mileage! She left that job because she didn't like driving so much:uhoh3:. Anyway, my point is sometimes people do get these jobs that have out of normal range salaries, like my sister. Hey, you never know.

"Wow" I should move out your way. Here in the midwest, LPN's start out at 13.00hr in the clinic and top out at 15.50. Pretty sad, I know! The hospital setting does not pay much better for LPN's starting wage for new LPN is 13.37hr. I worked flex-time in LTC and made 15.50hr:(

Where in the Midwest are you? I'm up in Wisconsin and work at a hospital. For me, starting pay as a brand-new LPN was $15.85, not including shift-differentials when applicable.
Since the member's screen name is "nd_mom," I can safely guess that she's in North Dakota.Where in the Midwest are you? I'm up in Wisconsin and work at a hospital. For me, starting pay as a brand-new LPN was $15.85, not including shift-differentials when applicable.
ND = state abbreviation for North Dakota
His wage is probably with shift diff and all that added. If he has a lot of experience he will make more too, but that wage sounds way too high for Cleveland. Last year a friend of mine took a job there and she told me that they started RNs around 24.
I work in Mansfield, Ohio and I have about a year and a half under my belt and my base pay is 21.53. We get an extra 3/hr from 3pm-7am and only like .50/hr for weekend and .25/hr for my BSN.

You have to factor in the cost of living. Even so, I think the rate is pretty good. I also have 16 yrs experience and I've been with the same company for over 11 years- transfering from hosp to system owned LTC/rehab facility. Even within the same company, the rates for LPNs are higher at the LTC/rehabs they own.
Yes, I do live in North Dakota and wages are not the greatest out here. An RN starting in the hospital makes 22.00hr. The LPN's do not make much. I have been in the medical field since 1994 and my highest wage so far, not including flex-time pay was 14.00hr. Pretty sad if you ask me. I used to be a medical assistant and when I became an LPN with the same company, my pay did not increase. But of course I was doing the same job with just more responsibility. "Go figure" Any whoo maybe it is time to move.

If any can answer, please do. I was recently told by an LPN that he was offered an job at the cleveland clinic making 23.75 an hr. I think he is exaggerating, but i dont know for sure. I currently live in toledo, ohio where the starting salary for RN's is 21.58. I am planning to move to fayetteville, n. carolina sometime next month, and their starting RN salary is only 19.75 day shift with a 3.00 s/d for 2nd shift and 4.00 s/d for 3rd shift. If anyone could tell me if thats true about the cleveland clinic's starting wages i'd appreciate it, and if a move to n. carolina would be a good one for me. By the way, the hospital is Cape Fear Valley in n. carolina. THANKS!! By the way im new on here, and i just graduated with an associates in nursing dec. 13th.
