just wanted to let you know

Hi all

Just wanted to let you know I lost my beloved husband last Saturday morning at 0140 hrs. Life will never be the same. We were told he died peacefully and we were supposed to be contacted but it must have happened too quickly. I got to say a lot to him earlier that day and he had a nice funeral with many of the carers in attendance. He was definitely waiting for the family to come and especially our daughter (RN/midwife and now expecting). I think it said a lot for the carers that even towards the end he just didn't want to go into any other care because he liked the staff and I've told them that. It's very lonely here now so I will probably be checking in more often while I am waiting for a job to come up.

Hi Nambour 51 and everyone.

Well I didn't get the job..apparently my scenario clinical skills weren't as good as they wanted but there will be second round offers made. There were many applicants for the grad position and fifteen interviews were conducted. Maybe I'll get lucky on second rounds...however I did score 100% on the calculations and with that i am pleased. The med error did come up but I turned it into a posotive and stated that I thought that continuing in the light of it demonstrated my commitment and determination to succeed. (They also saw nothing wrong with my taking the MIMs into a patients room with me). I may only ever end up as an aged care nurse..so be it but I won't give up just yet. I have actually applied to do some shifts at a nursing home, while I know it's not an acute setting I figure it can't hurt. The interview was held two weeks ago just after I got home from Melbourne. Had a fabulous time there. Went down to surprise my sister who turned 60. It was worth the trip down which my darling brother in law paid for just to see her face and the face of my other sister whose jaw just dropped ...cause she hadn't been told. Don't you love surprises eh?
